THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA SHARE “FORLORN” VIDEO — WATCH
ZII EP OUT NOW ON SOLID STATE RECORDS
The Devil Wears Prada — Mike Hranica [vocals], Jeremy DePoyster [vocals, guitar], Mason Nagy [bass], Kyle Sipress [guitar], Jonathan Gering [keys, synthesizers], and Giuseppe Capolupo [drums] — have released the much-anticipated ZII EP via Solid State Records. It’s a discordant, dissonant exercise in excellence. Get the ZII EP here.
The band has shared the video for “Forlorn.” Watch it here.
“Hopelessness is a primary theme to ZII and ‘Forlorn’ really drives that home,” says Hranica. “While fictitious zombie songs aren’t intended to particularly tug at one’s heart string,’Forlorn’ goes all in at the sense of loss within the zombie apocalypse.”
The original Zombie EP dropped all the way back in August 2010 and remains an intense fan favorite. While not a chronological release in the TDWP catalog, ZII is the next chapter.
“There’s no question that the Zombie EP is a fan favorite and a record that really set the pace for us as a heavier band,” The Devil Wears Prada previously said, offering insight into this EP in relation to their catalog. “A goal we had for this EP was to pay tribute to ZI while honing in on the characteristics that we enjoy about heavy music today and the directions we want to see it heading. We just had our first song go to radio with ‘Chemical’, and now in the same year, we will be releasing the heaviest music of our career with ZII. This isn’t just a new chapter for the Zombie EP; this is a new chapter for us as a band, and an opportunity to lean into both sounds in ways that feel better than ever. We’ve found our footing with these six members. Now we’re stepping on the gas and not letting up.”
TDWP effectively summed things up, saying, “Before, there were five songs about how to fend off the apocalypse. Now, there are five songs of hopelessness against the hoard.”

NEW ALBUM BELOW ARRIVES JUNE 25 VIA RED BULL RECORDS — PRE-ORDER HERE
HEADLINE U.S. TOUR KICKS OFF AUGUST 14 IN LAS VEGAS
Gold-selling, Columbus, Ohio-based rock band Beartooth have just shared the fast ‘n’ furious new song “Fed Up” from their fourth studio album, Below, which arrives on June 25 via Red Bull Records. Below is available for pre-order here.
Listen to “Fed Up,” which roars out of the gates and never lifts its foot off the gas for even a nanosecond, here.
“‘Fed Up’ was written mid lockdown,” says Shomo. “I really couldn’t think of what to write about so I just started thinking, ‘What am I fed up with in life at the moment?’ and wrote it down. The vibe of this song is garage rock with muddy, blown-out tones. We mixed that with the more pop styling on the vocals, and it made for a really special track.”
The band will also return to the road this summer on a headline tour. The Below Tour kicks off on August 14 in Las Vegas and winds through the country before wrapping in Grand Rapids, Michigan on September 25. All confirmed dates are below, including several festivals at which the band will appear. Get tickets here or here. In other Beartooth tour news, the band was just announced to appear at Louder Than Life.
Beartooth thrilled their legion of faithful fans in late March with a blistering one-two punch! First, they surprise-dropped “Devastation.” The band quickly followed with the video for “The Past Is Dead.” The clip finds the band in performance mode, which is its most natural state. The members are surrounded by a stunning display of pyrotechnics and an otherworldly demon named “Barry,” who has been dubbed the official mascot for the album cycle and can be spotted in the album cover art pictured below. The band also recently shared their latest single, the hyperkinetic new track “Hell Of It.”

Of Bird and Cage is the first metal album created to be experienced as a story-driven video game. The unique, interactive metal concept album, created in cooperation with leading artists from the modern rock and metal scene and developed by Capricia Productions, will launch on PCs on May 20.
Watch the new gameplay trailer here.
Of Bird and Cage is a dark, twisted game specifically tailored to its music — the first-of-its-kind musical experience available on the market. It’s a two-hour-long story of trauma, violence, and madness based loosely on Beauty and the Beast, accompanied by a phenomenal soundtrack composed by Arnold Nesis.
Some of the acclaimed artists who took part in the recording of Of Bird and Cage are Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (ex-Guns N’ Roses), Rob van der Loo (Epica), and Ruud Jolie (Within Temptation). The characters are voiced by Kobra Paige (Kobra and the Lotus), Danny Worsnop (Asking Alexandria), and Davidavi ‘Vidi’ Dolev (Gunned Down Horses).
Watch this video of Davidavi “Vidi” Dolev, the lead singer of Gunned Down Horses and Subterranean Masquerade, going deep about his role and the game. In Of Bird and Cage, he voices the dark and complex character of Bres Lupus. Find out how he joined the project and how he influenced the character in this exclusive video.
You’re not just listening to a music album — you’re inside a dark, twisted game. Symphonic metal will lead you through this story of trauma, violence, and madness. Play as Gitta, a 25 year-old drug addict, tries to escape the physical and mental prison of her captor — Bres. Based on Beauty and the Beast, the game features your favorite hard rock and metal artists. See below for a list of participants.
HOPSIN SHARES VIDEO FOR NEW SONG “BE11A CIAO” — WATCH
One of the preeminent independent artists of this generation touted by everyone from Eminem to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and streamed 1 billion-plus times, HOPSIN has just shared the video for the new song “Be11a Ciao.”
Watch it here.
“I’m a huge fan of the Netflix series La casa de papel,” Hopsin says. “I’ve been wanting to make this song since 2019, when I heard them singing ‘Bella Ciao’ in the show. I always thought it would be cool to make my own version of the song with a La casa de papel inspired music video.”
Earlier this year, Hopsin, who has been featured by Ebony and Psychology Today, dropped the video for the new song “Alone With Me.” Watch it here. He also shared the deeply personal song “Your House,” which is available here via his own label Undercover Prodigy. Watch the “Your House” video here.
ABOUT HOPSIN:
Continuing a tireless grind as one of independent music’s most inspired, impactful, and influential voices, Hopsin continually levels up his signature lyrical mastery. In 2007, the Los Angeles spitter, producer, director, editor, actor, and Undercover Prodigy founder first made his presence known with no-holds barred lyricism, razor sharp rhymes, and fearless creativity. Posting up over 1 billion streams and views outside of the system, he infiltrated the mainstream on his own terms with three gold-certified singles to date, namely “Sag My Pants,” “Ill Mind of Hopsin 5,” and “Ill Mind of Hopsin 8.” After attracting a faithful following with Raw [2010] and Knock Madness [2013], he crashed the Billboard Top 200 at #17 with Pound Syndrome in 2015. Most recently, 2017’s No Shame moved 15,000 copies first-week and emerged as his second straight Top 20 entry on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart. Beyond selling out shows on multiple continents, he appeared on the cover of XXL as a “Freshman” and garnered plugs courtesy of Complex, Rolling Stone, The Source, Vibe, and Huffington Post, who profiled him as “The Real Best Rapper Alive.“ Not to mention, Eminem cited him among “the Logics, the Coles, the Seans, the K-Dots, the 5’9″s” on “Fall” from 2018’s Kamikaze. After a series of transformative experiences, the rapper born Marcus Jamal Hopson paints the realest and rawest depiction of himself in 2021 with new singles “Your House” and “Alone With Me.”

What’s up Jnews faithful!?
Doing reviews puts me in such a good mood… Especially when they are back to back awesomeness!
Tonight I’m doing Allah Xul Elu’s latest Mauxuleum… Let’s dive right in!
I loved this album! It was dark, slapped hard af, and just plain took me off guard about how good it is/was! I know we all have our preferences about the artist’s we follow. I feel like I’m saying this not for me but so many others I think the underground and continuation of is safe in A.X.E! I think they could very well be the future of it (along with other young artists) and the future is bright! Definitely check this out!
The Shoeless one…
