This is my first review. So brace yourself and be warned.

If you hear the name Tunnel of love, what do you think of?  The dumb ass carnival ride, with the swans?  No. Wrong. I’m talking about the bad ass album that came out in 96′ from the Clowns! Their 4th EP! Full of controversy, a graphic cover, and released the one day between record labels: Jive and Hollywood.

THE TUNNEL OF FUCKING LOVE (not actual title for those who don’t know somehow).  This Album holds all the freshness of a Juggalo’s heart. With songs like:  Cotton Candy, Ninja, Super Balls, Prom Queen, and so much more that my brain could explode from its awesomeness.  One album you can stick in and play all the way through!

I fucking love this album and the fact that it is being re-released January 29th…the XXX version is back! I’m pumped, why you ask?

1. The bonus track “Mental Warp” is on the XXX version. Plus the controversial cover is back!

2. It’s a new CD for my collection.

3. Valentines is coming: Nothing like having a box of donuts, some Faygo, and with Cotton Candy playing in the background wooing your favorite Lette. Shit is going to be wicked.

Dropping January 29th….. Order yours on hatchetgear.com

  • Shaggy 2 Dope – vocals, turntables

Eagles Club / The Rave in Milwaukee.  2012 Hallowicked.

This review may come off more like a comparison as it would of been impressive to top the 2011 Hallowicked Vip, Show, and After Party experience that the Filmore, the Shelter, and Psychopathic put on.

In 2011 at the Fillmore the VIP was started and you where given the Pass, the 2011 Halloween Single, a Hallowicked 2011 Shirt, the American Psycho Tour CD.  You where put in a huge area in the Fillmore with ICP, Twiztid, and Blaze.  You had plenty of time to chat them up even though the VIP had been majorly oversold.  You could get pics, autographs, discuss life, or even magnets.  Hell Jamie talked to a kid about cutting back on cheeseburgers for a solid 10 minutes.

Cut to 2012 Hallowicked at the Rave.   VIP Was a pass, a shirt, and a quick, “hey looks its Joe and Joey” Upon arriving at the venue it was explained to those waiting for the VIP passes that Psychopathic was dealing with passes and they had no lists. The box office could either sell you a ticket and send you outside to the line, or give you your will call tickets you ordered for the show.  5:30 came and went, doors opened up at 6:30 and the VIP people where standing in a crowded stairwell near the dressing rooms in the basement of the venue.  Here is where I have issues with the venue.  The basement was rented out for a large birthday party, so we where stuck listening to spanish music for a solid 30 minutes and they where stuck staring and listening to a rowdy group of juggalos whoop whooping and what not while trying to celebrate.  Upstairs at The Rave, a large country concert was going on, and on the second floor Cold187um was about to take the stage.

Finally they got the VIP figured out, pushed us down in small groups of about 8 at a time to meet Joe and Joey in a single file line to get something signed and then pushed through a old pool and out the back of the building.  Walking around the building to enter back at the box office you had to be searched again and funneled upstairs since they didn’t want the Juggalos going into the Country Concert obviously.  At this point I was still trying to get my “Photo Pass”.  The lobby was empty but three photographers just waiting.  Texts and emails where sent.  Cold187um had played and left the stage, Zug had taken the stage, and then we where granted access.

This was my first time at the venue and the lighting in the Eagles Ballroom was just brutal, not only as a photographer but as a member of the audience even.  The sound was good, The merch area was in a horrible spot as that side of the stage is where people enter, exit, as well as Faygo, etc is delivered to the stage.  Having to disrupt the line for the merch area each time.  I got the last XL 2012 Hallowicked shirt.  Then promptly gave it away once in the crowd (I do that).  Since I got in way late, I didn’t have much chance to check out other areas of the venue (The balcony, the bars, etc)  Did hear that the beer was crazy expensive though.

Zug performed their cover of ‘Cry Little Sister’ and from that moment on, everything else melted away – the music spoke for itself.  As a metal fan, I enjoyed every ounce of energy that they where able to perform, wish I would of got in sooner to see the full set list.

While they where setting up for Drive By to take the stage I headed over to the stage entrance area to wait to be let in to snap pics during the first three songs.  Venue staff not familiar with me, attempted to give me shit since they do not know me and I am not a “regular” there like local or main stream press… even with the photo pass, but that was squashed before ABK came out alone to rock out a few tracks.  After the photo songs where done, headed back out into the crowd and Blaze joined ABK on stage.  Drive By put on a good set, it became clear at this point that we had to be at near capacity for the venue as just moving to the other side of the stage to try for some crowd shots was challenging.

Now while waiting to hit the photo pit again when the Clowns take the stage, was told 167 cases of Faygo bottles where at this show, and they where telling anyone participating in the Faygo Armageddon later that they should take it easy and make them last so we don’t run out before the song ends.  I found this interesting as I have never heard this before at a clown show, with not many VIP passes sold to this event as previous ones I attended I was anxious to see how it would go.  In what seemed like no time at all the curtains where drawn back, and The Ringmaster took the stage!

I was snapping what I could as fog started to roll, and the brutal side and back lights where blinding. When Two hooded figured where carted out to the front of the stage. Slowly Clowns unmasked non other then Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope. The chains where undone and they where unleashed to start a onslaught of new and old tracks with Faygo spray flying everywhere. Two liters rocketing into the crowd of excited Lo’s and Lette’s trying to get closer to the stage!

I had wondered how the mighty death pop would be entered into the set list that I have grown very familiar with over the past couple years.  Of course they dropped Chris Benoit and The Mighty Death Pop into the Mix.  However hearing Night of the Chainsaw which was just released as the newest video on hatchetmantv.com.   Was a sight to see and fit perfect with the Hallowicked theme.  They also threw in the Jump Around Remix which amped up the already energy filled juggalo crowd in the eagles ballroom.

Now it was time to see how it would all end. I joined the others on stage to let loose a large portion of the 1336 Faygo bottles that where sprayed onto the crowd and even the unsuspecting event staff… (got ya). Bang Pow Boom is a very long song, but for some reason when your dousing hundreds of juggalos in Faygo repeatedly it seems to be one of the fastest songs in the set list.  If you have not participated in Faygo Armageddon I highly suggest you find a way to do so.

There was no after party in Milwaukee, so I have to say that This was one hell of a time, a great event, and I enjoyed myself.  However Hallowicked is something that should be experienced in Detroit.  There are still tickets for the Detroit Show, VIP, and After Party available.  So what are you ninjas waiting for?  Start heading that way!! hatchetgear.com   I wish I was going!  -Hazin

Let me start out by saying. I had a great time, I really hope TJF is invited back again in the media aspect of things.  My work on this site is a hobby, we have no professional event photographers, reporters, or videographers.  Ok, if your not into reading – get over it. This is a bit long winded.

First I have to thank.  WhiteT (Chris Sabin), he has no facebook…. – Hashly (Cody Blackford)Oreo (Shanae David)Blackie (Shane Blackford) and Deania Schuler – those who provided content for TJF and this review. The rest of the Iowa crew as well for making the trip all that much more fun. We never really hang out all year long, it really is a family reunion!  It is a shame the Texas Ninjas could not make the trip this year!  You were greatly missed.  The hippopotamus for saving the gathering!

Secondly I have to thank Psychopathic Records.  Billy Bill, Cody, and Most importantly Andy – We were invited in 2011 and this year we were not only invited but given press access.  It’s good to see the underground media like Faygoluvers and ourselves get recognition and a invitation.  Over the course of the last year, I think that relationship has built a ton, and minus some confusion and lack of communication at this years gathering. It is always a pleasure.  Here’s hoping this will continue to build as we have the largest social media following of all the Juggalo News Outlets, and that is were the BIG Whoop Whoop Thanks goes to. You – our readers, your the ones who make the site so popular – and the reason we keep bringing you the content you want to see.

To answer one of the most common questions each year. Cameras used by Myself and my friends.   Nikon Coolpix S8200 (Hazin) , Nikon Coolpix S3100 (Hashly)  and a couple of Kodak Easyshares and similar point and shoot Cannon. (WhiteT, Oreo/Blackie).  Video shot mostly on a Panasonic SDR-H85 and similar model by Hazin or Blackie.   All very affordable point and shoot personal use equipment. I am hoping to be able to afford something a little more professional before next years tours and the gathering.

Now on to the review. The 2012 Gathering of the Juggalos – Through my eyes!

This year I slept in the dirt a few times, like the old days. But before we get to all that. Lets start at the beginning.   In previous years, I have been able to bring you all some pictures and videos of the gathering setup a little early – however this year due to a tightening of security as we will call it, this was not allowed.  We left Iowa Sunday afternoon – with the thought of worst case scenario, we will be in the front of the line, and able to lock down the usual spot were TJF and FLH post up camp.

Sunday we had a flat tire on the trailer, and then had a blow out near Hannibal, Missouri.  I would like to thank the Wal-mart auto team for hooking me up with the help – they are the reason we made it to the gathering that night, and then home ok.  One expensive tire, a loaned floor jack, and a little help and we were quickly on the road again.

Now we usually head out on a Monday to hit the gathering.  However they started a day early, so we started a day early.  Now that is were one problem found us.  We stop for our food/liquid supplies in Mt. Vernon, Il  the last Wal-mart and major civilization on our way to the gathering.  Southern Illinois can be fun when seeking alcohol.  Guess what… No one sells alcohol on Sunday nights.  After sending out some emergency texts to homies on the way.  Scottie D and Pysko Scott answered the call and bought me some.  Again big thanks!  The gathering wouldn’t be the same without you guys – and not just because you brought me some beer.  MCL.

Upon arriving in the area, we typically get up by the gate for a couple reasons. The main one being my camper simply will not make it up that damn hill to the staging area, as seen in a previous year. Great gas mileage, but same motor as any Toyota corolla…  However this year, the road was blocked before the split, and we were now in a roughly 20 car line on the side of the road.  We hung out with some ninja’s and we peddled some of my home made apple pie (drink). As the sun came up, we popped a tent in the grass and I passed out.

Monday Psychopathic was moving people from the road up to the staging area if you had your tickets in hand. If you did not, you were being turned away.  It appeared I was the first “special list” and was parked temporarily on the side of the road until everyone was through into the staging area or turned away.  At this point with my trusty phone, was able to pull up a email record showing I would be on the “media list”.   Thanks to Cody and Billy for giving me the time of day, and to Tim with hogrock for allowing them to park me down the other road were a ticket booth was being setup.

My RV crew camped out alone up near the campground entrance, while my other vehicle (they had tickets) was funneled into the staging area.  We were told by security we were not allowed to walk over into the staging area, so it was a boring Monday as the 4 of us just chilled out in the sun, watching the ticket booth being setup.  We crashed out at a decent time, only to wake up to have a good 20 or so vehicles that had stuffed themselves between the RV and the ticket booth.  At some point that afternoon Scottie D. with faygoluvers.net texted me letting me know he was in the staging area with my beer.  However no way to get it to me.  Psychopathic had mailed him his tickets rather then putting him on a list (lucky bastard).

In the group that was in our staging area, it was a mix of other special list people such as wrestlers, bands, artists, vendors, and some people who had purchased the shirt package.  As people were approved and given the tickets – they were being sent back down and to the main staging area rather then through into the camp ground.  Band and Media were told there was no chance of getting into the campground until Wednesday morning at 10am when our lists came in.  Andy and George were not on site yet and they were not expected until then.  We were constantly told no one in the regular staging area was getting in till that same time.  Even with the multiple twitter, facebook, and text messages all day Tuesday saying that the regular staging area was moving or being let in.  Tuesday afternoon they started letting vendors in to setup.  Seen some people gain entry claiming they were vendors using the confusion of the moment, that were not vendors.

Tuesday evening I received the word from Scottie, and my crew in the regular staging that they were in fact being let in, and that they were attempting to hold down our camp site.  That feeling of dread quickly set in that we were not going to get a decent spot as the gates have opened. Still being told we will not be let in for like 12 hours.  However within 10-15 minutes George shows up followed shortly after by Andy. Lists are turned in, we are given our tickets and get funneled down into the campground the back way.  We finally get our spot to learn that electricity is not on, when in previous years it had always been. We get setup as best we can, meet up with old homies, meet our new neighbors and make some new friends.

Wednesday – Gathering of the Juggalos – First official day.

Now – If I come off a little sour about the electricity – it has more to do with you guys then me. It is hard to keep equipment charged up and update the website, facebook and the masses with no electricity.  I have no problem sleeping in the dirt, and roughing it.  Did it for years before I was part of TJF, and did it again this year a few nights.  We had brought a generator to keep our food cold while we were in the line, but had not brought enough gas to get us through the week.  So I tracked Tim down (with hogrock), and asked him about the electrical in our area as it not being there is a huge change for us and a very unexpected change as it had always been there.  Was explained that due to safety concerns it was not allowed and out of his control. The only guaranteed electrical at the GoTJ would be Big Balla Sites and he thought that next year we should plan on trying to get them from psychopathic.

Here is were things might sound like I am complaining.  The price point of the gathering this year kept with last years pricing which was a increase from previous years.  However, every year there seems to be more and more stuff to do, bigger acts to see, etc.  So I was expecting at the very least, a similar Gathering to the previous year, if not better.  After a short walk around the place it was a little disappointing to not see things like the Helicopter Rides, The sign the wall banners from last year, the embroidery stand, the face painting, and other vendors in the merch area that last year brought.  Even though you had to pay a bit for these things, the option was still there.

Also noticed a decrease of Love Trains running rides from previous years, a hogrock staffer said they were told Festi-Cab’s were free this year to compensate – however Festi-Cabs were in fact charging.   What was improved was the “Peep This” stages, were anyone could sign up to perform, especially the one near Spazmatic – guaranteeing you a audience no matter what time slot you got put into.  Also the Freakshow Stage was a actual stage this year, and not a tent, with a barricade which allowed for press pictures to be taken without fighting for position.  It just seemed like there was less going on this year, also the attendance seemed to be less, this year, it seems to be a little less every year since the 10th annual – which still ranks as one of my favorites ever.  But that’s just my observation.

Since we did not get to trade our tickets in the night before we headed down to the front entrance to get our swag bags, where it was just utter chaos.  For as much security as they put into not letting anyone in early, with the excuse of stopping people from sneaking in, or the ticket fraud from previous years.  We walked up from inside the campground, and were just handed bags without really bothering to check anything or pay us any attention.  It seemed odd how tight the security was outside, but once inside the hired security staff really was just handing out bags and trying to move people inside.  Also below you will see some pics of stuff we just found in the dirt during the gathering, and turned in. (sheet of what the access passes look like, and a staff radio).

Here we ran into Dirty Dan, who told me he was running the Contests this year and they would be done right, with judges and not solely based off of crowd participation.  If you have read my previous years reviews, you will see this is one thing I was vocal about, which in turn I imagine made our readers vocal about, so it was addressed.  I’m not taking credit for this change, however I’d like to think TJF’s readers played a part in it.  I’ll jump into the contests here since its on topic.  Most contests are female based contests and a lot of the complaints in previous years, is the girls willing to do the nastiest stuff wins because of the crowd participation.  I think having judges curbed this a little bit, however not much change in the outcome.  The problem I still have is with the Tattoo Contest.

Tattoo Contest – changed to 3 judges this year, contestants were pulled from the crowd, and some good tattoos were picked.  10 were picked originally, then a few more were added.  Now some of the tattoos picked from the crowd were just plain crap.  Dirty Dan picked them all I believe except for 1 which was picked by Sugar Slam and the additional people added later were picked by a unseen source.  I am not sure how they got picked (Rayne from the lingerie contest was added late).  The one Sugar Slam picked out of the crowd was easily the worst one up there.  I was skipped over after being looked at multiple times, which is fine – it is clear in this format the huge massive back pieces or a ton of tattoos is always going to win.  The judges narrowed it down to 3 people not using much crowd participation at all which is good.  However, awarded the prize incorrectly I believe. I think the 2nd place tattoo was not picked to win simply because she was a topless female. Now this is a odd thing because 3rd place last year was a topless female that did not deserve to even be on the stage.    Best tattoo did not win.    What I suggest for next year, is slot more time for the contest, have a couple of categories.   (Best Back Piece, Best Jokers Card, Best Hatchetman, etc) Get judges that are relevant.  No offense to Sugar Slam – I just dont see ink as something she should be judging is all.  I will offer to help organize or brain storm at any point.   We need a proper tattoo contest at the gathering!  If you agree – voice your opinion via the gathering media sites before next year :)

Ok Rant off!

Wednesday?

Mainstage: Kool Kieth, Static X, Onyx, George Clinton, Dark Lotus

Here is a brief recap of what you missed, if you where not there or did not get the PPV.

The crowd took awhile to fill in for the main stage acts. However in this Metal Gathering of the Juggalos – it was not long for the Pit to get going hard after Static X hit the stage!  The energy must of been so high from Static X’s set that while Onyx was on stage, he climbed the rafters and was spitting his verses from half way up the rigging!    George Clinton was a huge change of pace – I was glad to see him last year as its a act I would not of seen any where else, however throwing him up after these two high energy hard hitting acts just seemed out of place.

Dark Lotus closed out main stage with a Dark Lotus backdrop and a little ramp – they hit all the fan favorites, and since it was still early in the gathering, they all sounded good.  I’ve seen them perform a bunch of times, and hoping fore new content in the near future.

Comedy Tent: Ralphie May – was funny – showed some love to the juggalos, did his bit which was a little Blow Job heavy. But shocked me when he put on 2 different T-shirts he was given over his existing and kept em on.  I would of been sweating nuts, and I’m not quite a fat kid yet!

Freakshow: Hed PE – sorry this is the only show I caught this night at the Freakshow stage, due to other things going on. It was pure electric. The new freakshow tent – allowed me to get some good pics, then to bounce out and hit the crowd.  I have seen Hed perform many times, but its not a show I would ever miss.  Jared knows how to just flip the switch and dump pure energy into the crowd, then switch it up to a nice meaningful message or track.

One thing I did notice next to the Freakshow stage during Hed’s set was a guy testing peoples drugs (This is something I used to see way back once upon a time in clubs and what not).  Talking to him, it sounded like something around 18% of the stuff being sold off as rolls or molly had mdma in it, and the rest did not from his pool of what he was testing.  Kids – I understand your there to have a good time, but bring your own shit from trusted sources if your going to partake in the drugs.  18%??  I wonder what most of you were actually taking…

Underground Stage: It was at this point were the decisions got hard. With Clay’s Jump off, Slaine, Swollen Members, Freddy Grimes, Mastamind, and Rydas all coming up shortly and my need to return to the camper to grab something to eat and drink, I choose to just stick with 2nd stage for the remainder of the night.  From our camping spot you can see and hear 2nd stage with no problems. All while sitting down and chilling with my Iowa crew, as well as any camping neighbors.   Sounded Good, looked good, and I passed out for the first decent sleep since Saturday night in my own bed.

Thursday:

It is always my intention to bring you guys good high quality video of the seminars, as they are the most requested things we do.  I was able to bring what looks to be the most watched ICP and Twiztid ones.  However I am not sure what happened Thursday as I just plain missed out on Blaze and ABK.  Our homies at FLH uploaded audio from the gathering though, and have videos up now.

I was able to catch a little bit of the sideshow and a little bit of the magician – both of which are must sees at the gathering, its little things like this, you will not see on tour coming through your towns, so catch them here with a crowd of  juggalo family ninjas!  Most of my pre-main stage time was spent at the Rap Battle which was new this year and had a pretty hefty prize for the final winner.  I had a couple local artists friends entered and wanted to try and scope out how this thing was gonna go down in hopes it wasn’t like the contests.  It was ran pretty good and for the most part the winners were very clear to the audience and the judges.  A chick that did spit great won over a guy I think was better then 50% of the guys who won before him, I would of moved him on to the finals if I had been a judge. The only 2nd stage act that stuck out to me from the early sets was Kayla K I believe, and it did not stick out in a good way… How after 3 minutes she was allowed to continue I will never know…

Mainstage: Danny Brown, Fear Factory, The Game, DMX, and ABK.

Danny Brown was not someone I was familiar with before announced he would be at the gathering, it seemed like neither was the crowd, there was no energy – the biggest cheers came from when one of his guys on stage drank from a bottle of Moon Mist that was thrown on stage.  He has a unique look and unique sound – however being first on Main stage before people start to crowd down there really hurt his performance I think.   Fear Factory on the other hand, is another metal band that performed this year.  Quickly heads started moving, hands went in the air, and as the sun went down, the crowd started getting into main stage!!

There are no shows every year – however The Game, and DMX which had back to back slots on the Main stage, and both very anticipated gathering performers not showing was a huge let down. In previous years the crowd has kind of been left in suspense when someone no shows with no information given and just standing around getting pissed  (2nd stage a few years back if anyone remembers the lil kim/tila time slots).  However this year they were on top of it, came out, let us know what was up and introduced SOULFLY!!   Soulfly being moved to main stage, where they should of been all along was a great move on Psychopathic’s part.

With the exception of Mushroomhead, I have never seen a metal band rock the gathering with that much drive.  Recent member changes had me wondering what we would see from soulfly, however they annihilated the stage, the crowd, and all of Hogrock.  If people where not at main stage they quickly found their way there to see what was going on because it was certainly not The Game!.  The Mosh pit was beyond description.  This is a band that should be invited back next year if not each year they are still active!

ABK wrapped up the main stage, with a odd looking set and an Alien walking around behind him for a few songs.  The music was spot on, the sound was good, ABK killed it as usual.  As much as I have seen ABK perform over the last few years, he always keeps my attention.

After Main stage it was another night of hard choices, the only clear one being Mushroomhead.  I can not even explain to you how good of a live show they put on.  I have to explain them like I do ICP to non familiar people.  If you have never heard of ICP or Mushroomhead, and you do a little research online, you might not like the music you hear, you might not like what people say, but until you have seen the live show.  You are in the dark my friend.  “Witness the light that this magical candle will shed upon your life”.   They as usual covered some Pink Floyd – however making it better, makes it ok with me.

Cheech and Chong – I dont know how the clowns got them here, but it ended up being one of the best things they brought in. The new and improved Seminar/Comedy tent was packed. Someone passed Chong a huge ass joint as well as a 6 foot bong. He took a nice big puff off both. They even broke out the guitar and hit us with not only skits and their comedy, but at one point even rocked a TuTu, Mickey Mouse Ears, and what looked like a Diaper??

Was able to sit back at the camp site and listen to Potluck who I seen multiple times in recent months as I dozed off in the dirt outside the RV.

Friday –
Early 2nd stage act: Dark Half filled the stage and had a crowd that you do not usually see at this time slot, specially with the ICP seminar about to kick off.

Had to get over to the ICP seminar to land a spot, to shoot some video for you all, however quickly seen we could get a decent vantage with the press pass in the super skinny area between the barricade and the stage. They did not run all that late as they have in previous years, was able to kick it with the FLH crew while we waited.  Now I could type out a huge list of what dropped during the seminar, but most of you already know.  What I will do is let you see it from where FLH and TJF where standing if you want to, or finish reading this beast of a review and come back to it.

Heard Insane E – you may know him from his Juggalo Coloring books every year. He sounded good from the camp site as I got ready to head down to main stage for the night. Eric’s coloring books are a must buy every year, and honestly – tattoo worthy material if your looking for unique ideas. However now you need to check out his sound!

Mainstage Schedule: Mack 10, Master P, Kottonmouth Kings, Three 6 Mafia, and Twiztid.
With some lack of communication of what was going it, it seemed like Mack 10 no showed as they announced Big B first and he came out and schooled it. Great save by Big B on what was looking to be another night of no shows.  Once Big B was done it was obvious they were setting up the KMK set, which led everyone to believe not only was it a Mack 10 no show, but a Master P no show… Things were looking pretty stale, 2 big no shows 2 nights in a row… wtf right?

KMK hit the stage and put on the live show you expect them to at the GoTJ!  Full of energy – they were all over the stage and the crowd was feeling it. They played some new stuff from Mile High and it was fresh!  Anytime a performer drops his pants – it had to be a good show right?  Last year if I remember right, or the year before they had a big live set with screens and epic lights.  Bit more laid back and I’m sure less costly this time a round. Of course they rocked out all their hot tracks to a massive crowd of juggalos that followed along.

After the KMK set it was hard to tell who they were setting up for, the crowd was expecting Three 6 Mafia but were graced with Mack 10, guess he showed up after all. After Mack 10 left after what might be just for me a lackluster set. Then it was time for Three 6 Mafia, and although far from their best, they put on a good show, hitting all the songs we all know and used to bump in our rides.  So after this set, I was fully expecting them to intro Twiztid, everyone was anticipating it I think, however a whole crew of No-Limit hit the stage and started throwing out a massive amount of shirts, and some wad’s of dollar bills, during this mess, Master P hit the stage with “Make em say Ugggh”.  I don’t even know what to say, I was looking forward to Master P this year, him and DMX were probably who I wanted to catch the most for shows I wouldn’t regularly get to see.   I had quite a bit of the No-Limit music back in the day.

I am not sure if this was all a way to promote whatever the other rapper he had up on stage was, but it was not good. I was hoping to hear some of his good tracks from back in the day. Not the played out crap as a first and last song with a ton of stuff I was not familiar with in between while his other rappers shouted out about themselves – in a attempt to promote white trash maybe, but it came off as calling the crowd white trash it seemed to me.  Like I said, I don’t know… A huge let down.

You cant buy Juggalo Support with a hand full of dollars and 60 or so crappy T’shirts to split between the thousands waiting for Twiztid to take the stage.  “I Aint Feelin That” So lets just forget all that even happened.

TWIZTID! – The Abominationz Jerseys and Shirts – Really wish these were for sale during that 44% off sale, loved it, check out all the pictures I got of Jamie and Paul during their set and the Seminar down below in the huge photo gallery.   Another year where they played their whole set – and they finally addressed why they played the full album that previous year during their seminar.   Now having seen them a bunch of times, it was nice to see a different set list.  Although them not playing “We Don’t Die” to me would be like ICP not playing Chicken Huntin to most of you.  However, it’s all good.   Main stage ended with the guys just kinda talking to the crowd.  It was a great main stage ending, and kept a lot of people there rather then rushing off to catch the other stages as they ran late.

I was pretty wore out at this point, and looking at the schedule, was tempted to hit Bobcat at the comedy tent but choose the 2nd stage acts instead.  With my goal of hitting Zug Island later.  F Dux, Twiztid Insane, and Prozak all killed 2nd stage – and from our readers responses are easily the favorites of 2nd stage behind Deadly Medly and Rydas of course.  F Dux walked on stage and Juggalos just started filling in around the stage, Rocked some tracks, and tossed in a cover of Snoop’s Gin & Juice. I am not a fan of doing covers at the gathering, as Id prefer to hear your music, but the crowd dug it.  Plus there was a Midget on stage with a Axe that was as big as him (Epic).  Then, Twizted Insane came out and did his verse from Worldwide Choppers and it ignited the whole area on FIRE!  2nd stage crowd does not usually get this live, but they were into it!   Next up for me was Prozak who has become one of my favorite artists over the course of the last year.  He capped out the night for me, as that thought of catching Zug Island was forgotten about while having some fun elsewhere – I think I passed out next to the river. There may have been a hippopotamus… who knows.

Saturday –

Tattoo Contest started off the day, and as you probably read about it above, if your still somehow reading this, I wont go into it much, other then I still think this is one area the gathering has tons of room for improvement.  Here is video from the contest.  I started filming late as I was trying to get pulled into the contest with my epic tattoo.  No Joy though.

Now Since the Tattoo contest was right before the Twiztid Seminar – I needed to get there with some speed.  Luckily Maddog was headed there in his pimped out Golf Cart and let me jump on!

Time for the Twiztid Seminar! It was more comedy then informative. however they brought BACON!  You can skip the seminar video and come back to it later as its quite long.

After the Twiztid seminar, I am not sure what kinda mischief I was getting into as I did not catch anything till Main Stage.  2nd Stage acts, I apologize, I meant to go see Scum as they always put on a good show.  Mainstage however, had:  Cold187, P.O.D., Blaze, Tech N9ne, Geto Boys, and I.C.P!!    Yes, ICP on saturday night!

I was up for the first three songs of Cold187 to snap pictures you can see below, but I have never been a fan, then I am not a huge fan of covering songs like Assassins… It was good as a original.  I understand signing one of your idol’s  but losing Boondox was huge, and I feel the label needs to get some young, fresh blood in the door.  Ok, off topic, back to it!

P.O.D. is a weird mix for main stage this night, should of maybe switched with George Clinton. The crowd dug it. I liked all the rock this year, and P.O.D. was no exception. They rocked out their good tracks. and the Juggalos were more then into it. Seen many singing right along!

Then it was time for Blaze. The Nature Boy came out and gave his only good introduction since he bailed during the next one…  Blaze had a new set, which was very “Funereal Home” style, he was dead, with pictures and flowers, and then he pops up and says. “Not Again”.

It wasn’t long before the Suit Jacket came off, ROC Joined him and he got the crowd moving!

Something many people missed was Nature Boy stopped hosting after he attempted to introduce Tech N9ne, after Blaze got the place bouncing.

Nature Boy takes a water bottle to the melon and bails never to be seen again.  Now I took 2 full beer cans to my melon this year, one being right at the top of my ear (That shit stung for days) and I will say it sucks. However it did not make me go running home.  I don’t even take a beating for a living like he did.  A plastic water bottle is far from a folding chair.

So, now it was time for one of the all time Gathering Greats!   TECH M’Fn N9NE!!   Thank the Jokers Cards, they got him back this year, with the no shows, and the flop of a show that Master P put on, it was as always one of the best acts of the gathering, and without it, the whole feel of many of the reviews and experiences would not be the same.

He rocked out new stuff, old stuff, was joined by Krizz Kaliko as well as the 816 Boys and that got the girls up on shoulders with TITTIES a flyin!   The only thing I was hoping for, was since Three 6 Mafia was on the grounds, is that they would join him for Demons.  That would of probably been a major highlight for the entire gathering, and something I think we would all like to see.

Next up was Geto Boys – This was probably one of the groups a lot of people were excited for, but one that just wasn’t my flavor of Faygo.  But it was cool to see them go all out and dress the part. It’s also a show I was glad I got to see.  I think in some video of the PPV i have seen – it looks like I was in the media area Jamming out actually, so even though not something I typically listen to. I had a damn good time.

They even took the stage to a ICP beat.  The DJ or sound production team – messed up during their set more then I noticed during any other set on main stage.  It was a good set and the crowd got into it.  “Main stream, eat a dick”   was a common chant.

It’s the Gathering Of The Juggalos, and ICP has released a new Jokers Card – its time to GO BIG right?  ALL NEW SET. A Lighted MDP face dead center.  Violent J and Shaggy in cages at the start.   Now if you have seen ICP perform in the last couple of years, the set list is predictable.  It was nice to see them mix in the brand new stuff people had just started hearing into the mix.  When Im Clowning made it into the mix with its clowny samples laced into the track.  Violent J dancing like he was a kid having a blast was amazing to see.

I took pictures during the first 3 songs, chilled in the media area with Nik of MonkeysOnCrack fame and Scottie D. of Faygoluvers Heaven Fame.   It was a great time, and I got some epic pictures. (That camera was later lost by one of my Iowa Juggalo Homies…)   Purple Kodak Easyshare – if any of you picked it up – I’d love it if you emailed me the pics off it (anonymously if you want  hazin@truejuggalofamily.com)  I will say this – up in the media area, during this set it is very easy to see who is a fan and who is just working.  The look in some of the fellow pressers eyes says everything.  Seeing Scottie D. up there with a Point and Shoot camera – no plastic poncho, ready to snap some pics and get wet with the look of a 8 year old boy on Christmas morning. Very much like myself I am sure. This was a  show all in itself. Now after the first 3 songs, a lot of the wrestlers, press, bands, artists started gathering in the area where they pull people in for Faygo Armageddon.

I had been led to believe press was a go for this, however was told about this point 2 different things from 2 different Security staffers.  The first being that passes did not matter at all.  The 2nd being that wrestlers only were going.   When the time came for them to pull people in.  KG pulled in the wrestlers and Scottie D.  So myself and the others started to head back towards the stage, however Andy came down and pulled a hand full of press people – but turned TJF away and continued to pull people in.  I had not talked to Andy much as our paths did not cross and she is a super busy person that week.  So not sure what the deal was other then one brief comment which was bogus. Have not heard back about it or any other correspondence relating to the gathering since then.

This type of thing instantly puts a damper on whats going on, around you.  I had enough time to watch Faygo Armageddon from a decent spot – was a bit late to jam up in there, and I snapped off a few more pictures with the Kodak.   Afterwards it was time to hit the camper and get ready to hit up one of my most anticipated shows of the gathering.  Twiztid’s Dirty Dirty Party.

Before heading down to Twiztid’s Party – Claas was on 2nd stage and you just cant skip that.  Bukshot jumped up with him to do a track from the Underground Avengers EP.   Which blows away all the other music I was given for free at the gathering this year.  You need to get it now, while you can!   click here to get it!   I split so I could get down to the Bombhouse – with everything running late, was afraid I would miss some of the sets I wanted to see.

Now I was exhausted and tired at this point, but the lineup at the Bombhouse was nothing short of amazing.  Jellyroll, Haystak, Lil Wyte, Rittz, and Project Pat.   Well worth missing Mayday and Wolfpac who I have seen before.  Jellyroll got the crowd in the mood for the late night, and it was a non-stop party.  Girls on stage for the whole party – artists joining each other for collabs.  I was on stage from the start till asked to leave during Project Pat’s set – not sure what the deal was but left like a good boy and wasn’t interested in bothering Andy or anyone else present as they were there to have a good time, which I gotta say – seeing the people responsible for the gathering, enjoy themselves even if just briefly – is a high light.  It’s gotta be pretty stress full and taxing to pull this shit off every year.

From Jellyroll’s start till they were all done the Bombhouse was not only packed but it was rows deep outside the tent.  Clearly we need a bigger tent if this lineup can be brought back next year – or put on 2nd stage.    Twiztid was constantly on the stage, and even ripped into a naked lette to get off the stage at one point.   Bushwick Bill got up on stage during Haystak’s set.  Artists spittin from down in the crowd!  The energy just never dropped.    During Lil Wyte’s set list – the crowd spit most of the track Oxycotton for him… with little guidance.

Rittz – went off like a hand grenade.  His lyricism is matched by his flow and energy unlike any one else coming up right now!   Slowed it down for “Sleep at Night” then Destroyed it with “High Five”  Easily one of the top performances this year.  Was able to tell him as much before Twiztid got his ear after his set.  (Edit: Strange Music just signed Rittz – shame psychopathic couldn’t sweep him up)

Project Pat – hit the stage and they wrapped up the show.  Put it down with a heavy beat and smooth style.  A good finish for the top party at the GoTJ!

What a crazy night – and it was obvious on the way back to the camper that some people had already packed up and split.  The gathering seemed a lot less crowded this year, and Sunday seemed less crowded then I can remember it ever being before.  My plan for Sunday was to attempt to catch up on any sleep so If we split after Deadly Medly. I would be fresh for the drive home (I am the only driver in the RV crew).  Our other vehicle split Sunday afternoon due to a court date Monday morning.  Scottie and PsychoScott split as well.   I walked around Sunday and just kinda checked everything out in the aftermath – The garbage did not seem as bad as previous years at this point.  Hatchet Trivia, seemed slow and uninteresting.  The Beach Bash has always been something I want to check out – but it always makes me hungry and I always end up with like a empty hotdog bun, ninjas be snaggin all the free food up quick! So after checking it out for a minute I want to the camper and made up what we had left of some of the food, since my walk past Burrito Man’s Setup found him to not be open at the moment – glad I had found him earlier in the gathering – its just not the gathering without 1 burrito from these guys… SEEK HIM OUT!

Sunday 2nd Stage act that stuck out: Molly Gruesome had some of the hardest hitting stuff on 2nd stage the whole gathering, even the sound quality just seemed spot on.

Bloodymania 6:

This was a hugely hyped event that is prime time of the last day of the Gathering of the Juggalo!  Now I am not a fan of wrestling, have not been since I was much younger, but after Hallowicked last year and having it be the only entertainment at the start of the After Party – how can you not check it out when its what is going on?   Come on, its entertainment! So here we are again – the only thing going on.

DJ Clay, Kevin Gill, Shaggy 2 Dope all take the stage at the start.   I will say this, I am not a commentator – I also am not a follower of any wrestling, so if you do not like my little recap – maybe you should of forked out the money for the PPV.  I will say this – I was surprised how quick some wrestling can grab every ones attention and hold on to it.

Match 1: 4 Way tag team elimination match – (Head Bangers) – (Necro Butcher and Mad Man Pondo) – (Rock and Roll Express) – (Ring Rydas)

This match started out slow, but some things that stuck out to me was the use of the lighting conduit rig to jump onto a unsuspecting ryda who was down and hurt already when it came down to the Head Bangers vs Ring Rydas. This really amped up the atmosphere and left you wanting some more high flying action. In the end the Ring Rydas kept the Tag Team Belts though.

Match 2: Colt Cabana vs Vampiro.  Somone was in my ear this whole match talking about the site, etc.  (Apparently I should make a ton of money off it – honestly TJF is the most expensive hobby I have ever had. But I enjoy the fuck out of it!).    Vampiro of course won – with the help of Evil Dead and a DDT at the end of the match.

Violent J came out at this point and got in the ring.  He announced: “Corp Robinson is no longer affiliated in any shape or form with psychopathic records”.  He then went on to say he wanted to still have him there and still have the match – but they just could not do it.  He no longer has ties to JCW, The Gathering, or the Label. That there is no way to have the match play out.

Match 3: A Battle Royale with:  Zach Gowen ,Bobby Lashley, Carlito, Chris Masters, Rude Boy, Shockwave, The Weedman, U-Gene, X-Pac

This match went pretty quick with some slow action.  Shockwave went out very fast, then they added Rudeboy to the match. U-Gene and X-Pac got tossed out. Then it quickly gets down to Bobby Lashley and Zach Gowen (who had been out of the ring for a long time….) – Somehow Zach Gowen held on with some amazing use of the ropes to wrap this one up. (Sorry my commentary is short, you should of bought the PPV – like I said I am not a huge fan of wrestling)

Match 4: Triple Threat Match with: John Morrison vs.Breyer Wellington vs. Matt Hardy

Bryer Wellington pinned by John Morrison.  John Morrison had some killer fresh moves – for some reason he sticks out in my head the most right now from all the wrestling stuff I seen.

Match 5 – Scott Steiner & Vader vs. Roderick Street & Shawn Summers

The crowd was into this one much more then the earlier matches and Vader got the Pin after destroying Street and Summers.  The amount of excitement coming from the crowd was so intense at this point, I am not sure since I don’t follow this stuff – but let me tell you.  The Gathering Crowd was excited.

Finally it has all come down to the final match!

Match 6 – 2 Tuff Tony (c) vs. Kongo Kong

Kongo Kong is put down – after a mix of tables and chairs.  2 Tuff Tony is the JCW Champion!

Now if that was not enough – there was the Deadly Medley still to come.  Most people who left Sunday morning or Saturday night – this is the one thing they were upset that they were gonna miss. Lot of people asked me to let them know all about it.

Before I get to that, obviously the gathering is too big, and there is too much going on for one Juggalo to see it all.  I missed a few shows I wished I had not, but missed all kinds of things that happened just because I was not in the right area.  The whole thief getting his car dismantled thing… missed it, the infamous incidents at the Drug Bridge, or on the fence next to main stage… Missed them.. Didn’t know about it till way later.  There are probably kick ass things that went down I will never even hear about.  So I encourage you to attend next year – as reading reviews, watching some youtube, and scanning through some pics do not even begin to cover the pure excitement that it is to be there.

Deadly Medley – was a 2nd stage event, that had all of psychopathic basically switching up and doing some of their most popular tracks. I was not allowed back behind the barricade with other press… stale. However got some decent pictures even though the angle is rough as hell to take pictures from in the front.

Large amount of play time for Jumpsteady!  Was good to see him hit the stage and rip some out.   The most comical part was Paul and Jamie (Twiztid) taking turns cleaning up the stage during other acts songs.  ABK, Blaze, Twiztid, Jumpsteady, Cold187, and ICP all did multiple tracks in this round robin style event.   It was a good way to end the gathering, in a more up close look that you dont get at main stage  when they perform.

Cold187 took a can of something to the head during his second song – really the only major issue with throwing stuff at the event besides plastics.  But he kept on spitting.

You could tell some of their voices were shot at this point, but they wrapped it up with everyone on stage chanting.  “We will never die alone, Juggalos will carry on, swing our hatchets if we must, each and every one of us” for about 5 minutes before vanishing into the night as Violent J said: they did the best they could and “I love my family”.

Enjoyed the whole set while chilling front and center with Moonshine of Southern Psychopaths Hatchets fame.

My plan at this point was to take off – we usually stay and help the clean up crew a bit – however I had a great nap that day, and wanted to get some hours behind the wheel while I was still awake.  Of course that was just the plan. One of my crew did not show up after deadly medley – while everyone else napped, I waited patiently till the sun started to come up – then started searching for her.  Ran into Violent J and Legs Diamond up by Spazmatic.  Joe said he had a great time, asked if I did.  I replied its always a great time and I hoped I was invited back next year to get a reply from him of “I hope I am to”.   lol, classic.

Our passed out homie woke up and returned to us as we finished getting all packed up and ready to go around 8am.  The trip home was uneventful and I drove straight through. – one cell phone and one camera were lost on the gathering grounds this year.

Another great year goes down in history – thank you Psychopathic and Hogrock!  See you next year?   -Hazin

(If you read the whole thing and didn’t just skip down here to the pictures, thanks – hope you enjoyed it.  Honestly I had a blast.  Special thanks goes out to Jerry Taylor, and Scottie D.  whole reason I started snapping pics or writing about the on goings of stuff – is your guys dedication and hard work on your sites.  More so Jerry of course for snatching this scrub up and then giving me the keys to the beast that is TJF and really just letting me run with it.  MCL).

“I think I’m most attracted to guys who can appreciate stupid movies and share my crude humor.”

We searched everywhere for the perfect candidate for this months Juggalette of The Month. For some reason the search was harder than ever. We sifted through tons of submission photos and e-mails looking for the right girl to pop out at us both in looks and in personality. It didn’t occur to us that one of the coolest chicks was in plain sight right here in California. Her name was Jessie. Jessie was a girl I had noticed at quite a few shows. The first time was at a DGAF show in Sacramento, CA. I seen her again at a Twiztid show. Then at a Mad Insanity Records event. Then at an Insane Clown Posse show. We smiled and waived again when I seen her at the Gathering Of The Juggalos. I just remember thinking she was the nicest girl I ever met. So it was always nice seeing her at various events. Her manners and politeness was like the way your mother and father would want you to act when your grandparents would come and visit. Except Jessie was like that all the time. We bumped into each other again at the Gathering and this time formerly introduced myself and she was extremely polite and funny to the point where it took me by surprise. Jesse was very quick witted and talked like one of the guys. So to watch her at concerts getting hit on by guys was hilarious. She found humor in blurting out things most people would not expect from a innocent little blonde girl. Nobody stood a chance. She was too quick but never rude at the same time. Most walked away confused. The thing is is Jessie was most comfortable in a t-shirt and blue jeans. Many times Chuck Taylors completed her outfit with a butterfly knife tucked in her back left pocket. She was a tomboy. She was strange in a cute way, and her sick sense of humor drew me in immediately. We quickly became friends. One of the biggest thing I noticed from Jessie was that she wasn’t just some girl that sometimes listened to Psychopathic Records artists and claimed to be down. She had extensive knowledge of everything in the horrorcore scene from backpacker style hip-hop, to West Coast rip-gut and everything in between. Quite amazing.

The fact that she was absolutely beautiful at the same time never really dawned on us because she would often be the one out grossing us out with off beat remarks mid-conversation. So on our search when we finally realized we had a diamond in the rough right in front of us the entire time, we were sure she would tell us to go fuck ourself when we asked her to take pictures in her panties. After a little bit of begging she gave in.

We had heard about an abandoned pool house tucked away next to the Ocean in San Francisco covered in graffiti on the inside. We made the drive but we had to be careful. If you were caught inside of this place you would be arrested. Jessie was all about the risk, and the drive and we set off for the city by the Bay. When we arrived we noticed the entire building was surrounded by a chain link fence and all of the doors and windows of the old pool house were boarded up. Jessie was the first to scale the fence. We followed suit and found that in order to get into the building you would have to go in through the roof that had caved in on one side. Me and our photographer were surprised to see that the task was not one that she would turn down. We climbed through the roof with all of the camera lights and equipment and found the inside was a mecca of urban artwork. Spray cans lined the cement floor as far as the eye could see. It was probably one of the most impressive displays of vandalism I have ever witnessed. When the lighting was set up, Jessie emerged in her black boots, cut off shorts with a lacy black top. Her golden blonde hair blew in the cold damp breeze from the Ocean only 600 feet away. We knew we had made a wise choice. The tomboy we knew and loved had transformed into a model that we couldn’t keep our eyes off of. I called out to her. “Look who is so hot and girlie!” She smiled with her middle finger raised, and quickly replied. “Go fuck yourself.”

How did you first get into the wicked shit?

Well, I think it all started with me hearing Violent J on Loveline god know how many years ago. The funny thing is it wasn’t even their music that drew me in at first. It was just how freaking hilarious this guy was on a radio show! I still have the tape recording from when it was on the air. I made it a point to listen to their music more and sure enough got hooked. They were amazingly creative, funny, and they talked about everything everyone else was too much of a pussy to talk about. It was such taboo for me at the time though, admitting I listened to ICP was like admitting I enjoyed watching donkey shows, it was totally my guilty pleasure. When I seen all the love and acceptance and positive energy between everyone at the 2010 Gathering of The Juggalos I knew I would be down with the wicked shit forever. I had to know everything about it. So I went out and got all of the best horrorcore CD’s I could find. I usually go to all the shows I can and check out new artists and find more stuff to listen to.

Who are your favorite artists to listen to in your car or around the house?

I listen to a wide variety of music. It always depends on my mood or what kind of mood I want to be in. It’s so hard to pick out of everything I listen to. Some of what I listen to is groups like Twiztid, Tech N9ne, GWAR, Black Sabbath, New Found Glory, Blink 182, Andre Nickatina, The Offspring, CKY, Danzig, Insane Clown Posse, Sublime, Bjork, GG Allen, Bloodhound Gang, Nirvana, Gogol Bordello, The Dirtball, Reverend Horton Heat, Blaze, Queen, The Doors, Save Ferris, Potluck, Brotha Lynch Hung, Devin The Dude, Cage, Suicidal Tendencies, god the list goes on. Good music is good music in my book no mater what genre it is. For some weird reason though I have a strange love for 70’s disco music. I can’t really explain that one.

“All walks of life are welcomed and accepted through the common love of music. Being a juggalo is about being yourself and being proud.

Why do you think you can identify with horrorcore music?

I think horrorcore music is amazing for the simple fact that it relates to some of my most deep dark feelings that I would never act on in person. It’s a good way to relive some stress and pent up anger to know that you aren’t the only one feeling like fucking someone up. I love drawing and for me I love to draw gruesome, ruthless shit that I am feeling at the time but have such a hard time drawing without some good music to fit the whole vibe I’m in. It’s so much different than anything else out there. I have a dark sense of humor so I think I can appreciate what some people might find offensive and just think that it is funny.

Whats your favorite thing about being a Juggalo?

I think it’s an amazing feeling to be a juggalo. The best part for me is not feeling judged. That is such a huge part of it for me. At the time when I first got into the whole juggalo scene I was going to school and for me being a girl getting judged and compared to everyone else, whether it be in school or at home was a huge weight on my shoulders. To other juggalos none of that mattered. All walks of life are welcomed and accepted through the common love of music. Being a juggalo is about being yourself and being proud.

What is your most memorable show that you have attended and why?

The 2010 Gathering Of The Juggalos hands down. Anyone who has attended a Gathering I’m sure would have to agree. It’s unexplainable, and half of the shit you see at the Gathering doesn’t even seem real. I’ve been to only one gathering, sad to say, and in those few days I saw everything from Necro Butcher puking all over the place during Bloodymania to multiple people getting hit with a double headed dildo. For me being a little 18 year old girl at the time seemed super scary, but I’ve never felt more loved in my whole life, the Gathering Of The Juggalos has such a good vibe to it. I can’t wait to go back. Next year I will be there.

What kind of guys are you normally attracted to?

I think I’m most attracted to guys who can appreciate stupid movies and share my crude humor. More than anything I love a guy who can be creative and artistic in their own way.  I think that a guy that can draw or sing or create in some way is a big turn on for me. As far as looks.. honestly, creepy. I like the “I just got out of prison” looking dudes… the kind of guys you should probably not introduce to your family. I’m still new to the whole dating scene. It takes a lot for me to open up to people. I tend to avoid situations like that. So a guy that is persistent might get my attention. I’m pretty sure I just described the worst person ever to use this type of information.

What are your biggest turn offs?

I hate cocky lazy assholes. I think people with no drive in life are the least attractive. I don’t like people that rely on you to mother them or the kind of people that you have to remind that you didn’t carry them in your womb for 9 months. Have your own shit going on! I work, you should too. I have hobbies, so should you. If you don’t do anything at all, we probably don’t have anything in common.

If you were to go on a date for the first time, what would be the most ideal place to go to?

I would say anywhere out of the norm, I absolutely love going to creepy middle of nowhere locations to excavate. Nothing more amazing / romantic to me then driving around with good music blasting, getting lost a few times only to find yourself at a treasure of a place to explore together. This place here, is one of those types of places. Its creepy being in here. If a guy I was dating brought me here or some type of place like this, I’d be a little freaked out. That’s exciting. Having them with me to protect me and look around is romantic. In some sort of weird creepy way I guess.

“I like guys that are into the same kind of wicked life style…”

You may have noticed we skipped Juggalette of The Month last month. We searched long and hard for the perfect girl to grace the front page of Juggalo News only to come up empty handed week after week. We had spoke with a few professional models, a couple of very pretty Juggalettes, and a few others but something always happened to get in the way. We were in Washington partying at a show when a girl pulled up with a friend and got out of her car looking amazing. A blaze bandanna wrapped around her head, a button up shirt looking gangster as fuck.  She had this 1950’s pinup style look to her that many girls try to pull off, but only few can. She does. I turned to my friend and asked him, who is that? Her name was Ivy. She was beautiful. Once the introduction was made I found out her and her group of friends were very chill cool people that liked to have fun and go to shows and party it up afterwards. My photographer and I both had the same idea while outside smoking a cigarette with her. Oh my god. This girl should be our Juggalo News “Juggalette Of The Month”. The search was over. We asked her if she would be down and scheduled to shoot with her in downtown Portland, Oregon. It was at the photo shoot where she revealed her huge Dark Lotus tattoo and string of Hatchet Man tattoos on her back. She had a kind of swag to her. She had attitude that was easily captured in her photos. Our staff fell in love quickly with Ivy. We hope you do too.

How where you first introduced to the wicked shit?
My mom used to listen to it when I was a little lette, and then my best girl friend started getting into it in the 8th grade. It all began with Insane Clown Posse’s The Wraith: Shangri-La album which is one of my personal favorites. She ended up in rehab and moving down South and met this crew of guys Enasnimi and they were Juggalos. She introduced me to them and I fell head over heals for the life style, the music, the shows, the face paint, and most of all that family love! I couldn’t get enough of it! The funniest thing about me being a juggalette is when I was a kid I watched “IT” the killer clown movie. I was so terrified of clowns my whole childhood, so who would of thought I would have grown up to be one?
What are some of your favorite artists and bands?

Umm… I definitely would have to say the Insane Clown Posse, Twiztid, Axe Murder Boyz, Blaze Ya Dead Homie, Boondox, Psychopathic Rydas, Dark Lotus, Anybody Killa, Die Antwoord, Hed P.E, Esham, Cognito, Brotha Lynch Hung, Prozak, 2Pac, West Side Connection, Fly Leaf, Mars, SIK MOB, Mastamind and NATAS, King Scrub, Illizm, Liquid Assassin, Kung Fu Vampire, Mac Dre, Tech N9ne, Dope, Q Strange, and Swizzz. Mostly all wicked shit.

Why do you thing you identify with horrorcore music more then other types of genres?

I don’t really know it just kind of came to me, and once it did there was no turning back. It’s like a type of therapy for me, like Violent J of ICP says, “Let us do the killing for you, you’ll be alright!” At the end of the day I sleep better at night and it helps me deal with those damn haters.
What is the most memorable show you’ve been to and why?

I’m not sure, I’ve been to alot of shows, but I’d have to say Twiztid’s W.I.C.K.E.D. tour because it was my first one, and it was epic! From that day on I knew I would be down ’till I was in the ground. But honestly nothing can top the Gathering Of The Juggalos! That shit was fresh to death!
Everyone has their own idea of what a Juggalo or a Juggalette is. What does it mean to you?

It means love, and the best kind of love, family love. Everyone is accepted for who they are and that means the world to me. I was always the odd one out in a crowd growing up in school and stuff and for the first time in my life I know I fit in some where.
“Everyone is accepted for who they are and that means the world to me…

What kind of guys are you into?

I like guys that are into the same kind of wicked life style with the same fresh steeze as me not even necessarily just Juggalo’s, but I need a man who loves catching shows, going to parties, chillin with the fam you know. They also have to be cool to my friends. Bub most importantly she’s the shit. She’s my ride or die. She always holds me down, to me my friends are just as important as my family. Looks don’t really mean shit to this killa, all that matters to me is if I’m going to be with anyone its got to be someone who’s down to have a good time an treat me like the princess I am, and that’s enough for me!
What are your biggest turn offs?

I don’t like haters, cocky assholes, control freaks, liars, or abusive men in anyway! Laziness is not okay, yes I like to chill at home, and snuggle, smoke, cook some bomb ass food. But I’m the kind of girl who likes to go out n have a good time at night too. Another thing is my momma, you gotta get in good with my mom its not to hard as long as you have respect, goals, and values in life. If not, you’re cut.

Would like to thank Psychopathic Records for giving me the opportunity to see the Detroit Version of the Underground Rebels tour.  Same one I saw in des moines, however quite a bit more energy. Not to mention the clowns head lined it.   TJF gave away a ticket to our facebook community to this show as well.  Also got to attend the video shoot for the upcoming Mighty Death Pop Video:  Chris Benoit

Underground Rebels tour- I just seen it days before and dropped you a review on that, you can read it HERE.

The Detroit Version was a quicker, higher energy version.  DGAF was almost identical, other then they did not try and throw out chicken huntin at the end.  Kung Fu Vampire – brought it just a few notches higher then he did for Des Moines. You could tell he was excited to be opening for the Clowns. In Detroit of all places to open for them.

Potluck’s set was much different, no screens, no turn tables, just the back drop and them busting out some of their well known songs.  After a shortened set they capped it off like in Des Moines brining the whole tour on stage, and a bunch of lettes to wrap it up before giving the stage over to the clowns.

Before the clowns took the stage, they talked about upcoming JCW shows and through out some T-shirts to the crowd.  Catching one and standing near a lette celebrating her birthday.  TJF decided it was birthday present time!  Happy Birthday Lette, hope it made your day. She is pictured below.

So this venue had no baracade – with a knee high stage – means good times for anyone up front.  At the start of the clowns set it was clear that my legs where going to break so just got up on the stage where I chilled for the rest of the show. Was the old school crazy show like back in the 90’s (maybe I’m to old for all that now a days)  Lots of faygo flying, lots of bodies flying, just a all out juggalo good time.  Only concert staleness besides the 8 dollar beers was someone decided they wanted my hat more then me,  snagged it off my melon and took off.  Come on man?  Really.

The set was something different, you can see it in the pictures below.  Some gargoyle type statues with glowing red lights around Mike E. Clark on the tables.  The set list was the typical set list you hear from them for the past 3 years.  I didn’t notice them play ‘Chris Benoit’ like they have in the last couple of concerts.   Bang Pow Boom – was cut short I believe just due to the massive ammount of people on the stage… Even though the song seems way short when your part of faygo armageddeon, im pretty sure it was actually cut short this time.

No news was dropped during the show – was hoping as the last show before the gathering, some kinda info would be dropped.  They where offering the Mighty Death Pop flags as part of a promotion when pre-ordering Mighty Death Pop at the show – so kinda throws that Friday contest statement for this week that they are not being sold –  out the window, as many people walked away with them.

Chris Benoit Video Shoot:  Show up Promptly at 8:30 am.  So the only staleness of the video shoot was rushing to make it by 8:30 just to sit around till 3:30 when they started using us extras in the video shoot.  We took a party bus from our cars to the staging area for the extras where a tent was setup, with some lights, music, tent, tables, free water.  At 2ish food finally showed, up, not sure ive seen 35 pizzas disapear that fast.  Another 35 showed up shortly after that.

I do have to say, going like 12 hours without my phone in my pocket was a lot harder then it should be.  No electronic devices where allowed inside.

The staging area burned through 2 generators during this time. Not sure what the deal was, but the loss of music in a old steel mill full of juggalos didn’t get as chaotic as you think it would.

Now I can’t really get into the details, cause it would ruin the fucking surprise.  But as advertised, all extras where in plain black hoodie, pants, and shoes.  So you can imagine there is not much in the way of your friends seeing you, with a few exceptions – hair sticking out, a black mark on a hand, etc, etc… We will see how hard I am to spot when the video drops, but i should be able to find myself, and my crew I think.

So the following video was seen by Violent J, etc, and it was decided the Director was the guy for making this video, so check it out – to get a sneak peak at a loose concept of what we may be getting, or what inspired them to hire the guy anyway. (from a video director point of view, not content)

Violent J stated a few times that the song and video are not a Tribute to Chris Benoit, but more about that moment of snapping and losing control.

Video release papers and liability papers where signed, wardrobe checked everyone for any color that could be covered with black duct tape, or made people change. Then it was off to the video shoot.

Some things we learned during the shoot – Master P will be playing the gathering, Vader will be wrestling at the gathering, and Ric Flair will be hosting main stage one night (Like Charlie Sheen year.)  So after Charlie Sheen – and the Whoop Whoop Winning.  It did not take long after Violent J said this for the people at the shoot and Shaggy to come up with  “Whoop Whooooooa”  Also Project Pat’s next Album will have a collab with the clowns on it.

There was a article that came out after the shoot, based on a interview that was done that day (No TJF Interview, i know – i know, we shoulda had one).  This one was done by freep.com and you can find it HERE.  There are a few spoilers in the article including that we where all wearing masks (They leaked it, not me.)  Also that the music was played at double speed – thus the video will have a slow motion type effect when it is matched up to the song at regular speed. (Interested to see how this turns out.)

They also state that the video is planned to drop mid-july which we where not told at all that day.

The masks where pretty cool – this is something im very interested in seeing in the final product, although I am not a huge fan of this actual track, I think the video is going to turn out pretty fucking epic – hoping it drops on time!

In closing – I had a good time during the actual video shooting process, it was fun to see things come together – and found it interesting that they notice shit like a dude wearing blue boxers in a crowd of black clothes and redo the take.  (Was not me – commando – TMI??)  -Hazin

House of Bricks in Des Moines, Iowa was the tour stop.

Headliners where Potluck and Kung Fu Vampire. I had a chance to talk to the performers about… whats all on our minds this time of year. The Mother F’n Gathering of the Juggalos.

Izzy Dunfore is set to play the gathering this year, Kung Fu Vampire is skipping it this year to work on new material, however fully intends to play the 2013 GoTJ. Potluck said they where unsure at this point, leaving it at “hopefully”. DGAF said they had also recieved a invite to preform.  So Izzy and DGAF will be there, and hopefully Potluck!  Very Nice!!

The Performers:

Izzy Dunfore is a genuinely talented and exciting hip hop artist who has the drive, as well as the charisma, to be the next big thing. http://izzydunfore.com/

The DRP is a rapper/metal vocalist. Has been in the bands Primer 55 & SORE. Worked w/Jared of Hedpe, Potluck, RA the Rugged Man, MARS, Saint Dog, etc.  http://myspace.com/thedrp1

DGAF was first introduced on a worldwide level through counterculture icons the Kottonmouth Kings. During the late ’90s, Gillies was roommates with the Kings own DJ Bobby B and D-Loc in Redondo Beach, CA who were quickly adopted into the DGAF family. http://www.suburbannoizerecords.com/?page=artist/DGAF

Kung Fu Vampire is an American rapper from San Jose, California and the vocalist of the musical group of the same name. He has opened for Twiztid, 2 Live Crew, Tha Alkaholiks, Digital Underground, Kool Keith, KRS-One, Papa Roach and The Pharcyde, in addition to collaborating with musicians such as Eddie Gale and Spice 1.  http://www.kungfuvampire.com/

Rap duo Potluck probably knows hip-hop’s ongoing relationship with marijuana better than most others, since their place of residence, Humboldt County, CA, is one of the marijuana production capitals of the world.  http://potluckmusic.com/

Izzy took the stage, having the largest local following however fitting right into this tour lineup with his lyrics, energy, and ability to shake the house of bricks. Tracks like ‘Get High’ and ‘Do What I Want’ Dominate the atmosphere and command crowd participation.  Do not miss his 2nd stage performance at the Gathering of the Juggalo’s.

DRP’s Mix of rock, rap, and punk vocal style is a nice change of pace in this day and age when a lot of stuff out there sounds so similar or repetitive. No crowd can’t get behind his track without chiming along “Dont fuck with me”. mAlthough he was here recently on a show, and really not far from his home. I think the time table killed him, as a good portion of his set was missed during the mass smoke break between sets. This show went pretty quick, with little to no down time. Smokers, where missin out during a good portion of his time on stage.

DGAF:  The energy and vibe in the venue during “Knuckle Up” had been un-matched up to this point in the night. Good scratch while rockin the turn tables, and bringing that CA noize like noone else can. Great set, but almost ruining it for me was the brief chicken huntin cover at the end of the set.  DGAF is now just Gillies and Chucky, however still bring a very strong stage precence.

Kung Fu Vampire: His new backdrop was crisp, clear, and id even say High Def. Hitting the stage in all black, coming out hard if Izzy Dunfore shook some bricks loose earlier, KFV knocked some out the foundation.  Crowd was hopin, right along with him, he unleashed some new music. (Stranger) and (Only noon)? Both went over very well and sounded great. Ofcourse he ended with huge crowd participating on “Dead girls don’t say no”. With some kick as merch for sale and a fan based attitude, don’t miss this tour, just to kick it and chat with KFV. (was so tempted to get my boy a lil onsie)

Potluck: Two Video screens background, playing their videos or images that fit in with the set, rather then having just the group back drop, a blow up bottle of crown, and the potluck street sign for stage presence, this was very nice.

Playing Vapors, and all the quick pro weed tracks quickly got the crowd into the flow. Then Underrated killed it by doing the 3 minute miracle flawlessly, and then after a short breath went in to a DJ Mode and spun some magic. Was hoping to see him hit Tech’s Worldwide Choppers beat he just put a video out of him tearing it up. 1ton and Underated ended with STFU, the whole tour joined them on stage, adding DRP’s energy into the mix got the crowd bouncing. KFV, and DGAF up there to raise they hype as well.

See my pictures from the night below, as well as thier lil tour diaries. This tour is still going strong, and hitting Michigan this weekend where they will be opening for ICP! Yeah i said ICP. I will be there!

I got the chance to go check out this tour in Des Moines, IA at People’s on Court!  The show was amazing and full of energy.  In this day and age when you got to have good merch and a great live show to go with your message and music just to make it. Here are two bands that have all that and more!  There area  couple of good tours going on right now, however this is the one you will not want to miss. A chance to see both of these groups together and the energy the unleash is not something to even think about missing.  Get it on your calendar, and get your tickets now.

The Venue is not one of my favorites, having to walk up multiple flights of stairs to a venue is always blah – plus having to leave the event area to get a drink, then not able to take it with you back into event area is really a silly thing.  However the negatives of this event stop there – so if its coming to a city near you. DO NOT miss this one.

American Head Charge – was able to get the crowd amp’d up – lots of moshing. I was surprised to see them bring it this hard and see the response they got. Usually bands that reunite leave a little to be desired, but that was not the case here.

They have a unique sound and a perfect choice to open on the Hed To Head tour!

So after AHC – there is a mad rush to the other area of the venue to piss, buy drinks, drink them, socialize, and attempt to get back in a decent spot for Hed PE to take the stage.

I love the new shirt design Hed PE has out – I picked one up from Jared who was selling the merch himself, as well as signing it, and taking pictures directly after the set. The whole band hit the merch table right off the stage. It was all about the fans who support them. So if you enjoy talking to the artist, here’s a group that don’t bolt instantly after the show!

Got a chance to pop the question that’s always on my mind this year. “Are you guys playing the gathering this year?”  Response was they had been contacted, sounded like they where hoping for a good time slot so they can schedule everything.  Really hoping it gets lined up. Hed PE’s live show has been amazing for years!.

If you have not seen them before – you are missing out.  They have played multiple gatherings and where on the Bang Pow Boom Tour that ICP Headlined, so if you have still managed to miss them, this tour would be a great chance to catch them and be introduced to them.

They mix it up from their mid 90’s to their current releases. From fast hard core, to slow funky punx rock. Throw in a little hip hop with a message behind it all and you have something you will not see anywhere else. These guys have influenced a whole group of main stream bands.

It was said by all bands this night, and you could tell it was the case for Hed PE.  They brought a little extra to the table in honor of MCA of Beastie Boys – as a Major Influence for Hed PE, they left nothing in the tank, it was a performance full of energy, sweat, heart, and just all out punk rock to the max.

Hed PE is what Live Music is all about! One of a few bands out there, who not only produce good music, but have vocals with meaning and purpose. Then on top of that – they put their all into it.

You’ll see me rocking the new shirt at this years gathering, check out all the Hed PE merch over at their Website

Mushroomhead – head lined the show – and they ended up with the most pictures in the gallery below. I wish I was able to see them more often. Hell for the review I could simply say.  “Water Drums – Nuff Said”  but then you’d have nothing to read, and unless you’ve seen this live show, you have no clue what I am talking about.

Mushroomhead has a huge stage presence with multiple members doing multiple things, as you can see from the pictures, a large part of it is the two sets of two large lighted water drums that adds a amazing effect to the show.  Now being a ICP fan, I am no stranger to getting a little wet at a concert. Oh, and If you hadn’t noticed they wear some pretty kick ass masks as well as part of their on stage persona. They have done this since 1993.

After just one show back in 93′ they where invited to play with GWAR.  Have been a hit ever since.  They have a unique style of industrial metal that comes out amazing live.  They had a long set full of all their great, hard hitting tracks. Was huge crowd interaction, letting them work a instrument a time or two, stage diving, even snagging a camera from a fan a time or two and snapping a few pictures from the stage. Just a all out epic time.

Towards the end of the set, Drummers from the previous bands including Hed PE, took over on water drums and had a blast on them, you can see all this in the massive amount of pictures I was able to snap off.  I do gotta hand it to my cheap lil Nikon – it took some water, and one drop and still kept firing away.

After the show, was able to pop the Gathering question to a few members, and it seems they have not been contacted at all, but had a blast the last time and would love to again…. Hear that psychopathic??  Everyone should pop over to the Gatherings Twitter page and request they get this lined up ASAP.

JuggaloNews’s Hitchcock sits down to talk to Prozak about his new album Paranormal

2012 album from Steven T. Shippy, better known by his stage name Prozak, an independent rapper and film director from Saginaw, Michigan. With Paranormal, Prozak takes you on a socially conscious, introspective journey that’s both dark and hopeful – weaving a tale of musical mayhem like only he can do. With tracks like “Until The End”, “The Tell-A-Tale Of Two Hearts” and “Million Miles Away”, along with features from Tech N9ne, Twiztid and Krizz Kaliko, Paranormal will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat.

This is a different style album – with more meaning and heart, a dark look into the soul lets say. A few change ups, from heavy metal tracks to slow tracks with great flow. With many releases/videos before the album I was highly anticipating this one. Many songs I will continue to play often.

It starts out with a brief skit (the only one on the whole thing – so if you hate how everyone has a ton of these lately, you’ll appreciate this quick intro and nothing else other then music.)

Prepare for the Worst:  Starts with a funky electronic intro with a piano going in the background to make it a nice mellow undertone.  Then Prozak comes in with the verse.   Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.   A message that in like most music these days is heavily repeated in this song, however the lyrics and meaning of the track are hammered home with good verses.   Good instrumentals and lyrics on this track.  Great start for a album that has a lot of meaning that will touch home for many people.

End of Us (Feat DJ Starscream): Harder metal rif on this song. Prozak had this to say about the meaning of the song.  “surfacing anger and rage within these current times, the collapse of our economy and the effects of consumerism.” “There are people losing their homes, small business owners going bankrupt, and watching my home state of Michigan rank No. 1 in violent crime and unemployment. Desperate times create desperate measures.”  So you can see where hes coming from with this hard hitting track. Even with the metal track, the flow is spot on, and the message is clear.

Tell Tale of Two Hearts: Sad female intro – leading into a track that clearly belongs on a project called Paranormal. Prozak sings this sad track over a nice instrumental, with female hooks and spoken words. He flows from the perspective of a ghost. This ones sure to tug at anyone who’s lost like this. A slow track, that tells a story.
Line in the Middle (Feat. Twiztid): Jamie and Paul with Prozak – do I need to even say anything? A must hear for all the TJF out there. A great message. “On your tombstone there will be two dates, all that matters is that line in the middle”. All 3 bring it over a nice heavy instrumental. As always Jamie’s flow is flawless. Prozak’s hook seems to follow the trend of to much repetition, but that’s to be expected on a track with three rappers spittin. This is one track that has made it into my master playlist.
Farewell: A more mellow track – slower then the previous track and bringing a message about relationships, sure to hit home for many couples, or friends of couples who see some of the shit they go through…. then a surprise twist at the end switching the message up totally. Fitting as arbor day is this time of year.
F*ck You: A paranormal style instrumental – A fuck you track to the Mainstream, Labels, Radio, Haters, etc. Love the slow trippy style instrumental on this, a good flow for a fuck you track.
Perception Deception: Another more heavy, instrumental. “Go to work like a slave, every day, then you die” A track about fitting into the mold of everyday life and lies of being in society. For me this seems more like a local metal band track, and one of my least favorite on the project. Of course this is my opinion of the overall track, the message is good, the instrumental is good. The flow is more of a metal scream.
Enemy (feat. Tech N9ne): Industrial metal instrumental, with a funky underground rap flow. This is one of the tracks that had a pre-release video. The message is great, if you have ever met someone and their vibe was just bunk, easy to tell they where your enemy. Prozak’s versus and hooks are smooth and to the point, laced with content for this track and never off topic. Then Tech comes in and throws down content like only he can.

Wake Up You’re Dead: 3rd heavier track in a row, that mellows into a more funky background while the heavy guitar stays throughout in the forefront. A track that goes well after Enemy as the flow is about fighting, and aggression, it ends with heavy repetition is its one downfall.
Hate: A song about hate, fits right in place with the track order. Instrumental change from the last 3 tracks is a nice change, makes you want to move your head with its familiarity. A track about hate, and how we all have it. Prozak’s flow is at a great pace so you can follow the meaning and words without getting lost, however quick enough not to be dull and boring between the hook which on this song I did not like much.
Until Then: Easily one of my favorite tracks. Has a video out already, the comforting family guitar, with the nice beat laid in. A very mellow flow that Prozak lays down with great vocals. The message just hits home hard for me. This one has been played a lot here since it dropped. The video is perfect for the song. I cant say enough about this one, watch the video:

Million Miles Away: One of the first released tracks and videos off this, it covers a huge list of problems in our society today. You got issues if you can’t get into this track. “If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?” A very nice light beat put in with a mellow instrumental to match the meaning of this one:

Turn Back: Another soft instrumental, that has Prozak’s flow over the top of it, which is a nice mix, easy to listen to, his flow is not drowned out by beats or instruments at all. This is one of the tracks that makes the whole project a good road trip, or lawn mowing, or any other task doing album. It just flows in perfectly. In a day and age where its all about one good song or one good verse, this is a good album.
Full Moon: Instrumental comes in a little louder then the previous track, with a nice steady beat behind it. Prozak’s voice is a little harsher on this one, The lyric is horrorcore, and you can tell your listening to the Hitchcock of Hip Hop on this one. This and the last track have a little less meaning for the masses and more from Prozak’s point of view, but that could just be me, they dont hit home as hard as some of the other tracks. Still a good track, very on par with Enemy yet a lighter note.
One of These Days (Feat. Tech N9ne and Krizz Kaliko): Starts out with Tech – slower flow on a easy light instrumental. A feel good track about how we all have desires and wishes, and say “One of These Days” It’s another track that makes the whole album flow well. Closes with being thankful for what you got.
Alien: A track that brings to question if this is his last song, what would he want to say. I think we’ve all felt like a Alien in our own skin, plus the flow and lyrics just describe life in general. This is one of the best tracks on the album. It’s another lighter instrumental, has a female “ohhh ahh ohhh” voice that gets a little loud at points almost covering prozak’s hook, but not quite.

In closing, to quote myself the day this dropped (even though this is now a review): “Prozak – Paranormal. Epic. In a day when music comes down to a good song or even a good verse. This is a full blown album. (not a review or promotion here, just a damn fact).” -Hazin

Whats up warriors? I had a chance to catch this tour at a early stop in Des Moines, Ia at the House of Bricks. This show, could be the best to have reviewed or the worst, depending on your point of view. As it had multiple stale drama incidents.

Highlights: Agony of Defeat

Stalest Moments: Sid Wilson stops the show, and ABK leaves early.

As with most events I attend, with the exception of the gathering, its pretty last minute decision as my “day job” is…. well no comment. I purchased will call tickets as usual at last minute and headed out the house in enough time to make the Venue for Agony of Defeat who I was shocked to see was opening. At the door I was informed there was no will call list for this event. Thankfully a printed off receipt proved otherwise and I was in. Just enough time to catch a beer and enjoy AoD’s set.

These guys tore it up once again, and it’s a shame that they where somehow excluded from the Gathering this year -2011 (what ever happened to metal night at the gathering?). Previously I have done a interview with these guys and you can check it out over: HERE

After AoD’s set, Gathering artist Izzy Dunfore took the stage. Another artist on the TJF Interview list, you can check out that freshness right: HERE. A great set, the tracks those familiar with Izzy get down to was interrupted by Sid Wilson of Slipknot fame getting on stage with his entourage. Some choice words where exchanged, music was stopped. This scene lasted a bit to long, but eventually they left the stage and Izzyfinished out his set unfazed by the nonsense. Turns out the beef is over some bad record deal issues in the past. I was told the venue let them in the back door with the understanding it would be a “silent protest”…. I reached out to Sid with no response. Izzy did respond with this:

I hope that last night will be Sid Wilson’s final attempt to damage my career. I have successfully defended myself in a court of law in a lawsuit that he brought against me and I have ended all of my business ties with Sid Wilson and what was Tuff Bong Records. I have been trying to move forward with my life for three years now. I sincerely wish him the best in his career endeavors in the future. Whoop whoop

After his set Izzy gave everyone in attendance a vinyl copy of his album. Then spent the rest of the night autographing them. Hella cool homie!

Now that the local flavor was done, the groups that ABK brought along where to take stage. Originally this show had Grewsum on the bill, however that was dropped at some point unfortunatley. First up was Fuck Yo Face from Atlanta, GA. I talked to these guys after their set and they where very apologetic for whatever the sound issue was. I really cant even give you a review on it. They had a 18 minute set that was really just pointless, the sound issues gave me no way to enjoy, or get a feel for what they bring to the stage.

Next up was Smokehouse Junkiez – I don’t know if it was because the sound was so much better, but these guys sounded good, brought some energy, good beats, instrumentals, and lyrics. Would be nice to check them out again somewhere. Dropped them my info – hopefully hear from them and get some details going as their website http://www.reptheroach.com/ is a bit limited.

Now, what makes people drive across the state to see a event? It’s usually the head liner right… ABK headlined this show obviously – and the fact that I didn’t get to see anything near his full set list, is disappointing. I wouldn’t of been able to make the VIP portion of this show, had I felt the need to drop another 50 bucks. I am not sure why this tour has VIP. Anyone who has attended a ABK show or been to the gathering, he always makes time to do pics/sign stuff, etc. Even this show he took time after all the drama to do pics and sign stuff.

The merch that comes with it – is not worth 50 bucks in my opinion (like i said my opinion). ABK came out in a Tshirt rather then the usual of him wearing a jersey. Pics below. He did however have LED lights on his pants…. He got started into his set list, when at the end of a song he said peace and left the stage. Now being up front your really just kind of standing there like WTF!! Apparently what had happened is a fan had a seizure, the EMT’s had arrived, and asked the venue to kill the music and lights. When the sign was given to ABK that the show was being stopped he said peace and dropped behind stage.

Now at this point the crowd is chanting family, family, family! Then ABK, ABK, ABK. Once the EMT’s cleared out – We where told then by the promoter ABK refused to take the stage. Shortly there after ABK came out into the bar, did some pics, signed some stuff, then left. Outside in the Alley behind the bar, he did the same. Chilled for awhile, made plans to hit a local bar with some of us, but then split town. When asked what really happened in the alley, he indicated they stopped the show for the medical issue rather then just pull the person out of the venue. Then asked him to leave after that. Said something about not returning to this venue, and would try and do a free show next time in area.

I sent in a request to psychopathic records, as well as ABK’s manager for a statement, and have not heard anything back. A worker at the show sent us this:

A ninja had a seizure at the show. The paramedics were coming in and said the music needed to be shut off. I ran the music all night, so I did what I was told.

The tour manager informed us, if we shut the music off, we could not re-start it. Considering it was on an mp3 player, that didn’t make sense to me, but it was a call that we didn’t have the authority to make. The fact is, when someone’s life hangs in the balance…fuck an ABK show. This ninja was more important than anything going on onstage.

If Killa really cared about his fans like he claims to, he would’ve stopped the show instantly and restarted it once the dude was taken care of and on the way to the hospital.

That’s what I can tell you from the promoter’s end of it. We only did what EMS told us to.

Now on a side note. I received a call from the promoter, who going over his numbers noticed that I had purchased tickets online for will call, and knowing that he did not have a will call list at the show, called me to make sure I was able to make it into the actual show ok. Then apologized for the whole night. This act alone shows some class and dignity in a industry that heavily lacks it. So thanks homie, that shit was very appreciated.
In closing, I heard through my facebook, that the ninja who seized up – went to the hospital, and was released and is just fine. Glad to hear that ninja!
