TWIZTID are continuing their foray into the rock world with “Perfect Problem,” the second single from the duo’s upcoming rock-based album, slated for release in the spring of 2021.
A lyric video for “Perfect Problem” is available today exclusively via hard rock/heavy metal bible Revolver at https://www.revolvermag.com/music/hear-twiztid-vent-anger-new-rock-song-perfect-problem.
The “Perfect Problem” single will be available Friday digitally. Pre-save “Perfect Problem” at https://ingroov.es/perfect-problem.
“Our jobs as entertainers have become extremely important,” TWIZTID says. “We’ve fully acknowledged that and continue to step up our content level on all facets across the board. The world currently needs a vent, a beat and lyrics to help it successfully release its anger. ‘Perfect Problem’ is but the first of many to come.”
“Perfect Problem” was produced by Scattered Brains, who is known for his work with Jelly Roll, Struggle Jennings and Yelawolf. “This song stands tall with the rock and roll festival circuit across the nation,” he says. “True talent and versatility throughout. Love working with TWIZTID!”
“Perfect Problem,” as well as TWIZTID’s recent “Rose Petal” single, were mixed by Johnny Andrews (Motionless In White, Fozzy, Underoath). The first of many rock-oriented singles leading up to the new album, “Rose Petal” has been featured on Sirius/XM’s Octane channel’s “Test Drive” and is also currently TWIZTID’s highest charting rock single on Mediabase and BDS. In its first weekend, the “Rose Petal” single received more that 20,000 streams on Spotify, a clear signal that fans haven taken to TWIZTID’s more experimental sound.  The song’s video also hit more than 500,000 views on YouTube in less than a month. The upcoming album will feature familiar names within the active rock world, including Johnny Andrews (Underoath, Fozzy), John Sustar (Motionless In White, Mushroomhead), and up and coming producers The Danger Within.
Backed by a legion of rabid fans, TWIZTID’s latest Kickstarter campaign was fully funded in under 72 hours and eventually exceeded its funding goals by 300%.
Pre-pandemic, Twiztid wrapped up a tour of the USA with Motionless in White, We Came As Romans, Vans Warped Tour and sold-out headline show at St, Andrews Hall in Detroit. The 12-time Billboard charting artists recently launched an online virtual concert called Netfest: On Your Couch after their next tour was canceled due the pandemic. The virtual concert featured appearances by TWIZTID themselves, B-Real of Cypress Hill, Redman, Tech N9ne, Rittz, R.A the Rugged Man, Chelsea Grin, The Black Moods, Hyro the Hero, Caleb Shomo of Beartooth, Christian Coma of Black Veil Brides and Spencer from Ice Nine Kills. Netfest: On Your Couch was watched around the globe by more than 43,000 fans.
In additional to their musical ventures, TWIZTID’s Jamie Madrox and Monoxide established the Astronomicon pop culture convention three years ago. Taking place in their native Detroit, the convention has consistently featured the best guests from music, comic books, movies and television all together under one roof.
This year’s convention was highlighted by the announcement of TWIZTID’s very own animated cartoon, now in development with producer Ken F. Levin of Night Sky Productions (Amazon Primes’ The Boys) on board as a showrunner. The cartoon is based on TWIZTID’s Source Point Press comic book series, Haunted High-Ons, which sold out and was quickly collected into trade paperback.

What’s up Jnews faithful!?

Doing reviews puts me in such a good mood… Especially when they are back to back awesomeness!

Tonight I’m doing Allah Xul Elu’s latest Mauxuleum… Let’s dive right in!

I loved this album! It was dark, slapped hard af, and just plain took me off guard about how good it is/was! I know we all have our preferences about the artist’s we follow. I feel like I’m saying this not for me but so many others I think the underground and continuation of is safe in A.X.E! I think they could very well be the future of it (along with other young artists) and the future is bright! Definitely check this out!

The Shoeless one…

Hey everyone! So I know it’s been a minute since we’ve done a series of album reviews here at JNews, and for that we apologize. But man, have we got something for you guys tonight!

Fresh off the musical presses Jelly Roll, and his newest release title Self Medicated.

This album is like his umpteenth one right!? So he’s established, and he’s got the longevity to last in the underground game, and peaking his head out a little into mainstream. But let’s be honest. At this juncture in their careers someone like Jelly Roll can do what they want!

I’ll just tell you guys that it jumps right out at you in the opener. It’s a banger and my poor shitty factory speakers couldn’t hang. But it’s more than just a good cruising album.

With bangers, ballads, and bong loaders this will have you feeling some type of way. Whether you’re missing that homie, honey, or whoever. It’s also lively enough to make it interesting and keep you playing through it.

If you have a streaming service, or however you play your music, you should definitely give it a listen…

THE PRETTY RECKLESS DROP BRAND NEW SINGLE “DEATH BY ROCK AND ROLL” — LISTEN

The Pretty Reckless, who announced their signing to Fearless Records last week, have dropped the brand new single “Death By Rock And Roll” today. The song is now available at all DSPs and is the first taste of new music since 2016’s Who You Selling For.

Listen to the rowdy and raucous anthem “Death By Rock And Roll” here.

The track, powered by vocalist Taylor Momsen‘s throaty, Joplin-invoking roar and thunderous riffing, is just the jolt the genre — and the world — needs.

“In a lot of ways, this new album feels like a rebirth and our first single, ‘Death By Rock And Roll,’ represents that salvation that my favorite music brings me,” says Momsen. “Rock is freedom and this song is about living life the way you want, and now that belongs to everyone who listens.”

The Pretty Reckless formed in New York City during 2008, and the musicians and late producer Kato Khandwala initially made waves with their 2010 debut Light Me Up. After countless gigs, the band returned with Going To Hell in 2014. Not only did the record crash the Top 5 of the Billboard Top 200, but it also ignited three #1 hits —the gold-certified “Heaven Knows” (the biggest rock song of 2014), “Fucked Up World,” and “Follow Me Down”— a feat that had not been accomplished by a female-fronted group since The Pretenders in 1984. Meanwhile, their third offering, Who You Selling For, saw them return to #1 on the Mainstream Rock Songs Chart with “Take Me Down,” which cemented them as “the first band to send its first four singles to #1 on the chart,” according to Billboard. Praise followed from Vogue, Nylon, and more as the quartet lit up television shows such as Letterman and Conan. With over half-a-billion streams, they headlined countless sold out shows and toured with Guns N’ Roses and many other heavy hitters.

Today, Toronto, ON singer, songwriter, and sonic insurgent Nikki Jumper unveils her new single “Apocalypse Love.”

Listen here

Teetering on the brink between rock and pop, she delivers an instantly catchy end-of-the-world anthem punctuated by hypnotic delivery, a danceable groove, and a hard-hitting hook, “Let’s blow this shit up tonight.” The song was co-written alongside Francesco Yates and features production from Phil Gornell [Bring Me The Horizon, All Time Low]. Be on the lookout for the premiere of a cinematic music video to accompany it very soon.

About the song, she comments, “We were talking about what was going on in the world and how the apocalypse could happen, because everything is so crazy. Around the same time, my best friend survived a terrorist attack where there was someone shooting at the patios of a family neighborhood in Toronto. She called me screaming and crying while it happened. My brother was in Brussels during the city’s terrorist attacks. He avoided the bombs by hours in the locations he was at. I had this feeling in my gut he needed to come home. Thankfully, he made it out. Francesco and I always say, ‘If the apocalypse happens, you’re the one I want to spend it with.’ Ultimately, ‘Apocalypse Love’ is about finding love and magic within yourself, a lover, or friends, when the whole world is falling apart. Finding that love and magic makes everything a little better.”

“Apocalypse Love” heralds the arrival of Nikki’s independent debut EP—coming very soon. The project manifests her pure and personal vision through and through from the music to the artwork, videos, and presentation. Stay tuned for its release later this year.

Fall in “Apocalypse Love” with Nikki Jumper now.

ABOUT NIKKI JUMPER:
Upending the rules of pop and rock, Nikki Jumper channels ecstatic aural hysteria from the ebbs and flows of a world forever in flux. The Toronto-born singer and songwriter rises up as a sonic insurgent— like a fashion-forward and future-facing answer to Tank Girl with a touch of personal magic. Nikki’s independent debut EP transmits a revolutionary clarion call, stirring tremors across multiple wavelengths all at once under the banner of her patented “Apocalyptic Pop.”

While the whole world is in lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic, Madchild has stayed on the grind, recording the new Aliby produced track and dropping a music video for “Quarantine” featuring Hooper Turnt Sanger. The video can be seen online here: https://youtu.be/I4krFPRbBEE
and was directed by Anthony La Rose Films via Skype and shot on a Samsung S10 by Madchild to ensure he was following proper social distancing practices. The video is a comical look at how Madchild is dealing with being stuck in quarantine, as he’s trapped inside with his thoughts, broke up with his girlfriend, and trying to distract himself with social media and binge-watching TV series.

“I realize that everyone is going a little bit crazy during this quarantine, so it inspired me to write a song poking fun at myself and hopefully it brings a smile to others during this crazy time of uncertainty. We’re all just adjusting to the new normal and musicians have been particularly hit hard as we make our living touring, but I feel like people need music now more than ever, so it was important to me to be creative during this time,” commented Madchild. “I thought long and hard about how I could make a video for this track and still use safe social distancing practices while filming. I ended up shooting this inside my house using a cellphone and I was able to Skype back-and-forth with the director. Anthony La Rose did a phenomenal job adjusting to the situation and it turned out to be a great video.”

“Quarantine” is the follow-up to his breakout single “Lemons”, which stacked up 600,000 views faster than any other Madchild video. The track is the lead single on Madchild’s upcoming new solo album “Mad World”, which is available for pre-order online at www.MadchildOMG.com

Madchild started the year with a bang, teaming up with Tom MacDonald to release the joint album “Killing The Neighbors”. The album launched with a series of music videos that have gone viral and hit the Youtube trending page. The videos for “White Trash”, “Sober”, “Bad News” and “D.R.U.G”, have combined for over 9 million views and sparked hundreds of thousands of comments online.

Madchild is a four-time Juno Award-winning rapper with over 100 million views on Youtube. His debut solo album “Dope Sick” was recently certified Gold by Music Canada for sales and debuted at #3 spot on the Canadian Billboard Top 200. “Dope Sick” went on to be nominated for a Juno Award in the category of “Recording of the Year,” as well as Sirius XFM and Canadian Independent Music Award nominations.
