IHSAHN TO RELEASE TELEMARK — THE FIRST OF TWO NEW EPS — ON FEBRUARY 14,2020 VIA CANDLELIGHT RECORDS

BOTH EPS HIGHLIGHT THE HEAVY + PROGRESSIVE SIDES OF HIS MUSIC

WATCH VIDEO FOR FIRST SINGLE “STRIDIG”

IHSAHN will release the first of two five-track EPs inspired by and dedicated to his home county of Telemark on February 14, 2020 via Candlelight Records. The first EP available for pre-order here.

Watch the video for the first single “Stridig” here.

The first Telemark EP represents the dark, brutal, and aggressive side of Ihsahn’s compositional identity. With three new original songs and two ferocious cover versions, it represents a celebration of the defiant spirit that first inspired him to follow a creative path and to form Emperor three decades ago.

The title of the EP is Telemark,” explains Ihsahn. “It’s the county I grew up in and still live in, so the whole thing is situated there and very much inspired by that. So you could say it’s a roots-orientated album. I decided early on that I wanted this to be very purely related to black metal aesthetics. I wanted to distil the basic, bare bones black metal influences of my musical roots, given the overall concept, writing something for and from Telemark. I decided to do Norwegian lyrics for the first time, too. It feels very much closer to home in many ways.”

Visit the official store for special “Stridig”-specific merch.

TELEMARK EP TRACK LISTING:
“Stridig”
“Nord”
“Telemark”
“Rock ‘n’ Roll Is Dead” [Lenny Kravitz cover]
“Wrathchild” [Iron Maiden cover]

Having spent the last few years steadily becoming a prolific live performer, both with his solo band and a rejuvenated Emperor, Ihsahn already has firm plans to take the Telemark EP out on the road. The new material crackles with live energy and sounds custom-designed to tear people’s faces off in the live arena: with grand plans to bring the record’s chilling black metal aesthetics to life for some unique live performances, the defiant spirit of Telemarklooks certain to shake foundations across the world in 2020.

“My idea all along was that I would perform all the contents of this EP live, but to build the live set, piecing songs from my catalogue that fit with the aesthetics of the EP,” Ihsahn concludes. “I was very lucky to be able to collaborate with the Inferno Festival, so I’ll be premiering this show at Inferno in 2020. The plan is to then follow up this EP with its aesthetic and musical counterpart, wherein I can distill all those more progressive, experimental and mellow elements of my music.”

I PREVAIL NOMINATED FOR TWO 2020 GRAMMY AWARDS FOR BEST ROCK ALBUM FOR TRAUMA + BEST METAL PERFORMANCE FOR “BOW DOWN”

Capping off a banner year highlighted by over 100 million streams, sold-out headline shows, a Top 15 debut on the Top 200, and acclaim from Billboard and more, rock music’s biggest breakout band I Prevail garner their first-ever GRAMMY® Award nominations. The band garnered two nominations this year in the categories of Best Rock Album for Trauma and for Best Metal Performance for “Bow Down.”

The 62nd Annual GRAMMY® Awards broadcast on CBS Sunday January 26, 2020.

“Bow Down” stands out as the lead single from the group’s critically acclaimed second full-length, Trauma—out now via Fearless Records

This milestone further affirms the platinum-certified Detroit quartet as 2019’s biggest breakthrough rock band, inching its way towards mainstream domination. The group sold out its largest headline tour to date in the Spring and Summer and currently serves as direct support to A Day To Remember in arenas across the country on the Degenerates Tour. The band opened up about the story behind Trauma in a deep Billboard article. Plus, Loudwire named it among the “Best Rock Albums of 2019…So Far.” These accolades and more position the record as a favorite for year-end lists.

The videos for “Bow Down,” “Breaking Down,” “Hurricane,” and “Gasoline” have accumulated almost 25 million combined views.

The story of I Prevail hits even harder than the music. They took a mental health breakdown, turned it into a powerful body of work, and made an audience connection online and I.R.L. on par with that of a pop or hip-hop act. These numbers—100 million streams and 100 million views and a Top 15 debut on the Billboard Top 200—remain unprecedented for rock. Trauma shocked the system quietly and continues to do so.

I PREVAIL ON TOUR:
WITH A DAY TO REMEMBER + BEARTOOTH:

11/21 — Duluth, GA — Infinite Energy Center
11/22 — Nashville, TN — Nashville Municipal Auditorium
11/23 — Fayetteville, NC— Crown Coliseum

I PREVAIL ARE:
Brian Burkheiser [clean vocals]
Eric Vanlerberghe [harsh vocals]
 Steve Menoian [lead guitar]
 Dylan Bowman [rhythm guitar]

ABOUT I PREVAIL:
Gold-certified Michigan quartet I Prevail refashion, re-up, and recharge rock music on their anxiously awaited 2019 sophomore offering, Trauma [Fearless Records]. If anybody can elevate the genre to mainstream ubiquity once more, it’s this band. Since their 2014 arrival, they set a precedent to catalyze rock’s evolution. The band put up astounding numbers rarely synonymous with the genre or their peers, for that matter. Nearing half-a-billion streams and 115 million YouTube views, they moved over 500,000 albums worldwide, notched three #1 singles on SiriusXM Octane, and played 500-plus shows in just three years. Not to mention, they achieved a gold single in the form of their take on Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” from the Heart Vs. Mind EP. On the mega-anticipated 2019 offering Trauma, they uplift rock to a plateau where soundscapes can unpredictably toss and turn between heavy metal, alternative, hip-hop, and electronic moods without warning, boundaries, or rules. Meanwhile, the lyrics team with confessional emotionality as if ripped from the pages of a secret diary. Vulnerable, vital, and visceral, the 15-track opus illuminates the future, and it’s as bright and bold as the singles “Breaking Down” and “Bow Down.” Rock may never be the same after this Trauma.

WE CAME AS ROMANS ANNOUNCE TO PLANT A SEED 10TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR

TOUR SET FOR MARCH + APRIL 2020 + FEATURES SUPPORT FROM THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, GIDEON, + DAYSEEKER

This spring, We Came As Romans — Joshua Moore [guitar], Dave Stephens [vocals], Lou Cotton [guitar], Andy Glass [bass], and David Puckett [drums] — will embark on an 10th anniversary tour celebrating their landmark, 2009-released album To Plant A Seed

To Plant A Seed was a definitive sonic statement for We Came As Romans and remains a fan favorite through this day. It’s only fitting that the band commemorate the release.

“We’re really excited to announce the 10-year anniversary tour for our first record To Plant A Seed,” says Moore. “Being able to watch our fans connect with us through music over the last decade has been an amazing privilege, and it all started with To Plant A Seed. Way back in 2009 when we recorded it, we had no idea where it would take us or what we were really even doing, and it’s awesome to see that we can play these songs still, and feel that connection with you.”

He continues, “But over the course of 10 years, we’ve released four other albums and we’re even working on a fifth! With that being said, we are going to be throwing these songs into the vault of old WCAR — and retiring them from all future setlists after this tour. So make sure you grab your tickets and come hear these songs one last time live.”

The tour kicks off on March 5 in Chicago and runs through April 11 in Pontiac, Michigan, and will feature support from The Devil Wears Prada, Gideon, and Dayseeker. All dates are below. Tickets go on sale on Friday, November 22, at 10am local time.

Earlier this fall, WCAR released two brand new songs — “Carry the Weight” and “From the First Note.” These were the first tracks that the band released since singer Kyle Pavone‘s tragic passing in August 2018. The songs are available here.

Big B Releases New Single ‘Band Of Brothers’ From The Felons Club

Southern California singer/rapper Big B has returned with his new group The Felons Club. The group has released its first taste of new music in the form of the new single “Band of Brothers (This is How I Roll)” online.

Watch “Band of Brothers” here: https://youtu.be/l1-BDaBGtCo

The track was produced by multi-platinum producer Michael Bradford, who has produced albums for Kid Rock and Uncle Kracker.

“We grew up around the biker culture and were raised to love the outlaw lifestyle. The Felons Club is just a way to express that, as we’ve always rode motorcycles. We’ve always partied and have always been ready to get into some s. That’s our life, so we figured why not make a soundtrack for it,” commented Big B. “We may not all be felons but we sure as hell have committed a few felonies. It’s not just music it’s a movement. Fly your flag high and let them know the Felons Club is here.”

With the release of The Felons Club comes a natural sonic evolution for Big B as he puts his own unique stamp on the classic outlaw sound. Big B continues to evolve musically with each and every project he releases. His unorthodox style that leaps between rock, hip-hop, and country to create the soundtrack for road trips and cold beers with good friends. The Felons Club is music for misfits and outlaws who live life full throttle.

Whitney Peyton Signs With Suburban Noize Records, Announces New Album & Tour Dates

Suburban Noize Records is proud to announce the signing of PA hip-hop artist and entrepreneur, Whitney Peyton. With the release of her new studio album “Alpha,” Whitney Peyton joins the ranks of Kottonmouth Kings, (HED) P.E., Madchild, Kingspade, and Chucky Chuck on the Suburban Noize roster. To celebrate the new signing, Whitney Peyton has dropped a brand new single “I Got It” online and available across all digital platforms.

Watch “I Got It” here: https://youtu.be/hzZLzhBwsMM

With her firecracker stage presence and continuous drive, Whitney Peyton is often recognized as one of the hardest working and charismatic up-and-coming artists on the scene. Hailing from the outskirts of Philadelphia, Peyton uses real-life experiences and undeniable emotion in her lyrics that resonate with listeners. Following an unorthodox signing with an independent rock/metal label in 2017, Peyton released the full-length album, “Firecracker” to much critical acclaim. “Firecracker” featured an extremely diverse hip-hop and rock-infused style that showcased her ability to shatter genre stereotypes. Selling over 4,200 copies first week, the album cracked the Billboard charts reaching #3 on Heatseekers, #9 on Overall Rap Albums, and #11 on Current R&B/Hip Hop albums.

Whitney Peyton’s versatility and ever-growing following has allowed her the opportunity to hit the stage with a wide variety of artists including Tech N9ne, Kottonmouth Kings, Twiztid, Rittz, Born of Osiris, Asking Alexandria, and many more. Whitney has also headlined many of her own tours and events in addition to performing at well-known festivals such as Northern Invasion, Gathering of Juggalos, and The Vans Warped Tour. Last year Whitney featured multiple heavy hitters on her “Iridescent” album, and toured with fellow female emcee Lil Debbie. Following all of the momentum of her music and multiple nationwide tours, Whitney Peyton is now ready to step out and solidify her name with the Suburban Noize family.

Experience the energy yourself as Whitney Peyton performs alongside Rittz, Dizzy Wright, and Ekoh the upcoming “Winner’s Circle Tour” this fall and be prepared for “Alpha,” her most honest album to date.

In what looked like it might be an interview, turned into me simply trying to flirt my way into GWAR. I think I might have been close, or maybe they were close…who knows? The Scum Dogs were great to me either way.

We talk about juggalos and the Gathering, so it’s not all an intergalactic space orgy.

GWAR will be finishing up the US end of their Holiday Use Your Collusion tour December 27-31. Details and tickets below.

I got a chance to talk with Chadkini(Chad Nicefield) Of Wilson at Louder Than Life in September. I didn’t know it then, but Wilson were planning their farewell show set for this December in Michigan. While it has no bearing on this interview, I think it should be noted that there’s no band like Wilson, and they truly are about all out fuckery and partying.

I wish the entire band nothing but the best, and sincerely thank Chad for sitting down with me in his van at LTL. He’s a helluva guy, and damn sure a Juggalo! Cheers to all the fuckery!

Last night in Detroit at night one of MNE’s “Attack of the Ninjas”(which was moved from its August date it held for the first two years), a banner was revealed at the end announcing a new project, seemingly named “The Rydas”, with a release date of 11/28/2019.

The online community immediately exploded on both sides, as this is clearly a “reboot” of sorts of the former Psychopathic Rydas. As of now, it would appear that only three original members are involved (we’ve yet to hear anything regarding the inclusion of the only other former Ryda on the label, Boondox/Yung Dirt), with the addition of Alla Xul Elu, gmo skee, and Young Wicked. You can check out the single, “Ain’t Callin’ You Gangsta”, below.
