Lets start off with three facts about Coral:

1.) I am a coffee addict; I must have it every morning before and after work, and all day long
2.) I’m a fire performer
3.) I’m a gypsy at heart-I’m from Salem, Mass (the witch town) and I now live in Detroit, and I travel a lot gypsying around, seeing all of my friends across the country.

How/when did you get introduced to Juggalo culture?

When I was 11 years old, me and my friends used to do backyard wrestling in the woods in Salem. I remember hearing “We Don’t Die,” and thinking that it was the freshest thing ever, and made it my wrestling entry song!

What special talents do you have?

My talents include, but are not limited to: fire hula hooping, fire breathing, fire eating, fire fleshing, and making a pot of coffee disappear in under an hour.

coral6

What would you tell someone interested in fire dancing?

I would ask them what prop interests them. I would also explain that it does come with lots of practice, determination, patience, love, bloody noses, bruises, and fat lips (ha ha). But, if you have the love for it, go for it. It has become such a part of me and who I am. It’s a wonderful thing to share.

What would you recommend to someone preparing for their first Gathering?

Get ready to have the time of your life! The Gathering is a magical place and there is nothing like it in the world; just everyone being themselves in the most raw form. It’s so beautiful. Bring what you think is necessary to express yourself freely, enter in a contest, and enjoy being surrounded by Juggalos from all over! P.S. Bring hand sanitizer and TP!

What album could you listen to forever on repeat?

The Great Milenko! I love that album so much! ‘Under The Moon’ is my favorite ICP song. It’s actually just my favorite song ha ha. I have a moon tattooed on my middle finger, cause – ya know – fuck you and the moon! ha ha

coral5

What are some of your hobbies?

Drinking coffee, and hula hooping, hands down. Also, I like making beats, going to shows, and making crafts: sewing, making dream catchers, bleaching shirts, and making stencils.

Do you collect anything ?

Skinnnnnnnn (jk – lol) Yes I do. I collect healing crystals and other trinkets in my gypsy travels. Close people give me things like artwork, charms and crystals. I have a little shrine set up of all of these small, yet so meaningful trinkets. It started by me and my best friend getting each other crystals from the witch shops in our hometown (Salem, Mass), and once I started traveling, it got bigger than that, and I have a great collection going.

How long does it take to prepare for a fire hula-hoop performance?

It depends on how long you are looking to do it for, but choreographing is like song writing. Sometimes it just comes to you and get it right away, and you got a routine in a few hours. Sometimes it takes a few weeks to get the flow right and to remember the whole routine. Either way, its consistent practice and counts of 8, ha ha.

Do you have any pre-show rituals?

Before a show, I stretch to make sure I don’t pull any muscles, and prepare my body. Other than that, I like to smoke a cigarette to calm my nerves. It doesn’t matter if it’s 5 people or 5,000 people, I always want to put on a good show.

coral4

Who is the coolest person you’ve ever met?

The coolest person I’ve ever met isn’t someone that is famous. At my first ICP [show], I remember meeting two amazing people that changed my life forever. One in a bright orange jumpsuit and a painted face (Cody), and the other soaked in Faygo with the most genuine smile I’ve ever seen (AJ). A few days after meeting them, I spent a few weeks in CT with them, and we became very close friends. The way that they live and lived their lives is one of a Hunter S. Thompson manner – “too weird to live, too rare to die.” I admired the way they treasured things in life and saw the magic in the Juggalo music, forever inspiring me. Cody isn’t with us anymore, but he remains one of the coolest people I have ever met, and bring his bandanna to every ICP show so that he can enjoy it too.

If you had to choose one outfit to wear every day for the rest of your life, what would it look like?

Well, I would pick my full-sequin hoodie (it’s a Victoria’s Secret fashion show exclusive). I’m just such a lover of glitter, and it is definitely one of my favorite possessions. To go with it, probably some leggings for comfort, and my black boots to be prepared for all sorts of journeys.

How old were you when you went to your first concert, and who did you see?

I was 8 years old at my first concert. My father took me to see Shania Twain ha ha

What song title best describes your life?

Incubus – Wish You Were Here

I feel all the imagery in this song (“the ocean looks like a thousand diamonds strewn across a blue blanket”), the idea of this beautiful place and wishing you were here to see it. Living the gypsy life, you always wish that you had certain people with you in certain places, to have these experiences with you. Seeing the sunset from the mountains of Colorado, wishing my family was with me, or certain friends – knowing how they would appreciate the view. I spent Christmas in Detroit; I didn’t see my family; I wished they were there. Being a gypsy is fun, but no matter where you are or who you are with, you will always miss those that are far away.

coral0

What’s your favorite memory from 2015?

I always enjoy performing the Gathering, but my favorite part was being in the Faygo Armageddon at the Gathering. It so magical being surrounded by Juggalos while it’s raining diamonds! There is nothing more magical that those moments, and I highly recommend it if you haven’t done it yet!

What would you like to change about yourself in 2016 ?

I would like to change my hooping habits: to practice more, and work at it more as a profession, hopefully turning my talents into my day job. Also picking up new talents, such as sewing, to offer more as professional performing artist – making my own costumes and being able cater to my clients’ needs. And as always, staying positive and focusing on the light in the life.

What does being a Juggalette mean to you?

Being a Juggalette or Juggalo means everything to me. Being a part of this family is my world. I haven’t had the easiest life, but who has? When I had nowhere else to go, the Juggalos opened their doors to me, metaphorically and literally. From being an outcast in today’s society, to literally having nowhere to live, my Juggalo friends and family have always – without a doubt – always – been there for me: Rift, The Scrubs Crew, The Dickheads, I love them all. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for this crazy magical family that is so misunderstood. Life is so much more of a great adventure being a Juggalo. The people you meet from all over the world, there is magic in the music that draws us all together, and creates this space for all of us to be and fit in. I just couldn’t imagine how stale life would be otherwise. I love all you crazy beautiful Juggalo souls.

coral2

What is something you suck at doing at doing, but wish you were better at?

Making beats and producing! I really enjoy creating beats; I love music. I’m just not that great at it yet! I’ve been working on it, ha ha. I love creating something that is my own, then listening to it, like, “Hey, I did that!” It’s very empowering.

How does being a Juggalette impact how your live your life?

It has impacted and changed my life forever: the way I see life and how I live it. No matter what things are going on in life, good or bad, I have the most amazing people to share it with. If things are bad and I feel low, there’s always a show around the corner with beautiful smiling faces to cheer me up. It helps me to see the light at the end of the tunnel a lot. Being in this community has helped me to be a better person, and to embrace who I am. This community has allowed me to express myself freely, with no judgment and I am so grateful for that, and truly blessed to be a part of this world.

“Funk volume is officially dead now”

As Reported by: Hopsin’s Facebook Page

Over the past few days, there have been posts about disagreements with Hopsin and Damien Ritter,

over the future of Funk Volume. And on Jan 2nd, 2016, Hopsin posted this:

Fuck Damien Ritter. This man is the death of funk volume.

Posted by Hopsin on Saturday, January 2, 2016

Also on Jan 2nd, 2016 Hopsin posted:

Some people are just too difficult to work with. I may possibly be walking away from Funk Volume soon, unless Damien Ritter decides to leave.

Posted by Hopsin on Saturday, January 2, 2016

Funk volume is officially dead now thanks to the monster Damien Ritter. There is nobody else to blame at all. I have officially separated myself from everything and I am fully independent now. It’s very sad but idiots like dame wanna control too Much and now he end up destroying a great fuckin team. Having a crew like FV has been my vision since I was 14 years old and this man just destroyed it. Jarren, Dizzy, Swizzz, Dj Hoppa and I are all still on good terms. They will forever be my brothers and I support them in whatever they do. I will let u guys know the full story soon. You know ama keep it RAW for real. Ain’t no holdin back. Im so sorry to all the FV fans. There’s a brighter future though. ‪#‎undercoverprodigy‬

Posted by Hopsin on Wednesday, January 6, 2016

Will this be the end of Funk Volume or will Hopsin and Damien Ritter, come to an agreement?

Only time will tell…………

If not, then R.I.P. Funk Volume!

What do you do for a living?

I work in a warehouse, shipping and receiving clinical trial study materials. My company handles

clinical trial recruitment, and retention for various patient studies.12183921_10207924389209520_7240016315235047038_o

What kinds of hobbies do you have?

I’m in college for Illustration, I know that’s not a hobby, but it feels like one. Also, eating pizza…Eating

pizza is one of my favorite things to do, anytime of the day! I’ll always be ready for a pizza, especially

a day old, cold slice! And Netflix…Is that a hobby? Fuck it.

What is the reason behind the mankini? Is it a revolution? A freedom movement?

It started as a joke at the 16th Gathering (I feel bad for my boys Mike and Nick; they had to deal with

the Bikini so much in the hotel room and in Walmart). I was using it as a psych out for a beer pong,

tournament which we were subsequently eliminated from in a matter of minutes. So, I was stuck with

this bikini, and I sure as shit wasn’t going to let it go to waste. So, in the spirit of Gotj and all things

weird, I decided to don the bikini permanently, while partying with the fam. However, it became

something so much more on its own, and I think that’s the really cool part about this, the attention

and love for it, just grew, almost instantly and organically! I was all over peoples Facebook feeds,

Instagram’s; Twiztid posted a video of me twerking at their merch booth, on their Instagram page. The

fact that I’m known as “that guy in the bikini” (I wonder how many people know my actual name, and

how many just know Bikini-Man) is not something I ever planned on, and it’s totally cool! There are so

many people who look forward to it, every time they see me, and I try not to disappoint.

I see it as more of a freedom thing, be comfortable with who you are, and don’t give a FUCK what

people think of you! Do your own thing, and never let someone else make you feel like shit because of

who you are, or who you want to be.

What does the mankini mean to you?

Be you. Whatever that may be, be that. Have fun, and don’t let people tell you too grow up. That

Makini, while a spectacle – as well as great as garnering all the attention in the room- is also a “fuck

you” too everyone who judges, and forgot that life is about living. Make some memories, and make

them worthwhile.

Rhinestones or no rhinestones?

Rhinestones…because, why not? I’m tacky, not classy!

Favorite mankini

Pepperoni Pizza

Dream mankini?

Anything that can combine Juggalos and Food

Any special talents besides wearing a mankini?

I can cook bacon in ways you haven’t dreamed of. I can eat entire Large Pizza in under 30 minutes.

Is the mankini your thing from now on or can we expect something new coming up?

For now, it’s definitely my thing, it’s what I’m known for, and it’s my trademark haha. I’ve even got a

brand spanking new one all planned out and designed for Juggalo Day! With the help of a down ass

ninjette, Leslie (she has an Etsy store called Pink Pandemonium, where she makes custom horror,

comic book and music themed accessories. Check it out). I have several ideas for number 17! One of

which you, Bluntmama, helped pick out. It’s gonna get real weird. My goal is too tip toe on that line of too

far and, well, at least he’s not naked.

12183729_398485070340707_1231380743413034670_o

How did you get involved with the MNE street team?

My friend was the Street Team leader originally, I was helping him out. He stepped down, and I asked

if I could be paired up with the new lead, because I enjoyed what I was doing. They told me they

didn’t have a lead yet, and that they would consider me, if I thought I could hang. So, I took a shot,

and they took a shot on me, and here we are today! Baltimore and DC Majik Ninjas!

Big thanks to Twiztid, Blaze, The ROC, Lex, Aaron, George, and Mike!

What was the first event you promoted on the MNE street team?

Back To Hell: The Darkness Tour at Rams Head Live in Baltimore, MD

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life what would it be?

Fuck! This game is always so hard! I’d have to go with…Eve 6-Horroscope12184241_1063525413691381_5133986834855931097_o

How many gatherings have you attended? Tell us about your first one?

I’ve been too 4, 2012 was my first. Let me tell you, there is nothing that could have prepared me for

the gathering. I mean, every year there’s always first timers asking for advice, but it’s too no avail,

there’ no amount to give a first timer. I don’t think it’s possible to be able too fully put into words

what my first Gathering was like, but I will try. Magic, is the first word that comes to mind, I can

remember just feeling like I stepped into another dimension or some shit, it was crazy. My body

tingled, literally, I was home and I could feel it for the first time. I have never felt so much happiness,

camaraderie, and just genuine love all at the same time. I made so many friends, tasted the cheapest of

vodkas and saw some really nice butts! For 4 days, nothing mattered too me, and I couldn’t be

bothered with what the outside world was doing, the gathering was all that mattered. The best part,

is that it felt like I had been there all along, you know? Like, I had just been away for a couple of days,

I walked up to campsites with random ninjas and drank all sorts of things and just kicked it with all

kinds of people, as if they were my old roommate or something, and they welcomed me with open

arms. I was in awe of all musicians just kicking it with everybody else too, it was really amazing to see

everyone together, no difference in status. I actually feel bad, my first gathering I spent a bunch of

time taking pictures for myself, I wasn’t actually living in the moment many times, but it’s all good, I

definitely got the full Gathering cherry pop. Also, I’d be remiss in my duty if I didn’t tip my hat too

Monroe, for getting me to my first Gathering, thank you sir. There is magic in the air, and I felt every

bit of it, it was hard to leave, as it is every year, and it never gets easier. Oh, I almost forgot, It’s also

where I developed my love for the one and only (you know him as husband) BLUNTMAN! He was a big

part of my first Gathering I was inexperienced and unaware, he definitely helped me out a lot! I’m

getting teary eyed thinking about number 17…Which also falls on my 30th birthday!

Jarren Benton Claims To Leave Funk Volume For No Limit; Funk Volume Responds

EXCLUSIVE: Funk Volume says Jarren Benton is still on label.

HipHopDX spoke with Funk Volume, who confirmed that Jarren Benton is still signed to its roster. The label says Benton is not signing with No Limit.

(This article was first published today [January 4] at 7:30 a.m. PST and is as follows.)

Jarren Benton posted on Instagram yesterday (January 3) that he is leavingFunk Volume to join No Limit Records. This comes right after Funk Volume artist and co-founder Hopsin threatened to leave the label due to a reported dispute with CEO Damien Ritter.

“We all heard the news about @hopsinson leaving @funkvolume,” Jarren Benton writes for the caption of a picture of No Limit’s logo. “I’m also venturing out on my own with Master P to revamp No Limit records.#nolimitsoldier.”

Benton’s lone LP with Funk Volume is 2013’s My Grandma’s Basement. In February, he released the Slow Motion Volume One EP.

Master P‘s No Limit Records thrived in the 1990s with himself, Silkk The Shocker, C-Murder, E-A-Ski and Snoop Dogg.

Hopsin Threatens To Leave Funk Volume Following “Issues” With CEO Damien Ritter

“Fuck Damien Ritter,” Hopsin writes on Twitter. “This man is the death of funk volume.”

Hopsin is threatening to leave Funk Volume following what he calls “issues” with label CEO and business partner,Damien Ritter.

Hopsin co-founded Funk Volume with Ritter in 2009.

Taking to Twitter yesterday (January 2), the Los Angeles, California rapper wrote: “Fuck Damien Ritter. This man is the death of funk volume.”

Later elaborating via Instagram, Hopsin revealed that the cause of their rift came from Ritter telling him that he doesn’t work hard enough – something he calls “flat out disrespect.”

“I’ve been having issues with my business partner Damien Ritter,” Hopsin writes on Instagram. “We started this whole FV shit years ago, but this man has all the sudden built up the courage to disrespect me and tell me I don’t work hard when I’ve made him Extremely wealthy over the years from my music. At this point, if he doesn’t leave funk volume, then I will. I’m putting it out there publicly so he knows that it’s fuck him forever. If ur a real Hopsin fan, I need your support right now and I only hope u continue to strongly support me if/when I leave FV. My heart will always rep FV, but as of right now, it’s not home for me as long as Dame is apart of it.”

Hopsin later took to Facebook to continue decrying Ritter.

“If ur a real Hopsin fan, i hope u still fuck with me with or without Fv,” he writes. “This isn’t something I want, its just something that may need to happen. I made this man VERY wealthy over the years from my music, and for him to tell me I don’t work hard at all is just flat out disrespect.”

“Never forget the reason why u even have a little name in this business pal,” Hopsin writes in a subsequent Facebook post. “My Raw vision paid u big time”

Stitches Evicted From Miami Home

Recently obtained court documents show the rapper owed three months in back rent.

Stitches was evicted from his Miami home, according to court documents recently obtained by the Jasmine Brand.

Stitches was sued by his landlord earlier this year for not paying three months worth of rent on his five bedroom, three bathroom home. The back rent totaled $8,100, the site says in an article published today (December 31).

On September 2, a judge ordered for Stitches and his wife to vacate the home immediately, but did not order the rent to be paid to the landlord.

Stitches has made headlines this year for claiming to sleep with Tyga’s girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, and for developing a rivalry with The Game. The Miami rapper questioned The Game’s authenticity and then was punched by the Compton, California rapper’s manager outside a Miami nightclub.
